2199 - Hajjaj b. Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: "And for the men over them is a degree," he said: A preference; that which Allah has preferred him with over her in terms of Jihad, and the preference of his inheritance over her inheritance, and everything by which he has been preferred over her.

2200 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah b. Musa narrated to us, from Isra'il, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik: "And for the men over them is a degree," he said: He divorces her, and she has no say in the matter.

2201 - Muhammad b. Isma'il al-Ahmasi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, he said: I heard Sufyan saying: I heard Zayd b. Aslam saying regarding the saying of Allah: "And for the men over them is a degree," he said: Leadership (al-imarah).
