[His saying, the Most High: "These are the limits of Allah"]
Its explanation has already preceded. Verse 187.
[His saying: "So do not transgress them"]
[The first view]
2226 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, al-Muharibi narrated to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak regarding: "These are the limits of Allah, so do not transgress them," he said: That is the obedience of Allah, so do not transgress it. He says: Whoever divorces contrary to this has wronged himself.
The second view:
2227 - Muhammad b. 'Abd Allah b. 'Abd al-Hakam informed us, reciting it to me, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Yunus b. Yazid informed us, from Ibn Shihab, that he said: We do not consider the divorce of a boy to be permissible before he reaches puberty. He said: And if he divorces his wife before he consummates the marriage, it has reached us that it is from the Sunnah that the limits of Allah should not be established except upon one who has reached puberty, or has attained the age of maturity. And divorce is among the limits of Allah, so do not transgress them; and we do not consider any matter more reliable than holding fast to the Sunnah.
His saying, the Most High: "And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah"
2228 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Abu Khalid narrated to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak regarding his saying: "And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah," he said: The division of Allah which He has divided in the obligatory shares (fara'id).
His saying: "Then it is those who are the wrongdoers"
2229 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, al-Muharibi narrated to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak, meaning his saying: "And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah, then it is those who are the wrongdoers," he says: Whoever divorces contrary to this has wronged himself.
His saying, the Most High: "And if he has divorced her"
2230 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah b. Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali b. Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding his saying: "And if he has divorced her, she is not lawful to him thereafter until she marries a husband other than him," he says: If he divorces her three times, she is not lawful to him until she marries a husband other than him. Abu Muhammad said: It was narrated from al-Suddi similar to that.
