2289 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn 'Ulayyah narrated to us, from Ayyub, from Ibn Sirin, who said: 'Abd Allah b. 'Utbah was approached regarding the breastfeeding of a child, and he assigned the cost of his breastfeeding from his [the father's] wealth and said to his guardian: "If he had nothing, we would have assigned his breastfeeding from your wealth. Do you not see that He says: 'And upon the heir [is the like of that]'?"

2290 - 'Abd Allah b. Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Hafs b. Ghiyath narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from al-Hasan, regarding "And upon the heir [is the like of that]," he said: The heir is responsible for the child's breastfeeding, but he is not responsible for the maintenance of the pregnant mother.

It was narrated from Zayd b. Thabit, Qabisah b. Dhu'ayb, 'Abd Allah b. Ma'qil, Mujahid, Ibrahim al-Nakha'i, 'Ata' al-Khurasani, Sa'id b. Jubayr, Abu Salih, al-Zuhri, Qatadah, Harith al-'Ukli, al-Suddi, Ibn Abi Layla, and al-Thawri something similar, excluding the mention of the pregnant woman.

And the Second Aspect:

2291 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Hafs narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from al-Sha'bi, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding "And upon the heir [is the like of that]," he said: He shall not harm.

It was narrated from Mujahid in one of his two sayings, al-Sha'bi, and al-Dahhak something similar.

His saying, the Most High: "And if they both desire"

2292 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya b. 'Abd Allah b. Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah b. Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' b. Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id b. Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "And if they both desire weaning"—meaning the parents.

His saying: "Weaning"

2293 - Hajjaj b. Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding his saying: "And if they both desire weaning, through mutual consent from both of them and consultation, then there is no blame"—not being in the wrong in terms of wronging themselves or their child—"then there is no blame upon them."

2294 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya b. Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah b. Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' b. Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id b. Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "And if they both desire weaning"—that they wean the child from milk before the two years.
