His saying: "With kindness"
2309 - I read to Muhammad b. al-Fadl, Muhammad b. 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad b. Muzahim reported to us, from Bukayr b. Ma'ruf, from Muqatil b. Hayyan, [regarding] His saying: "What you have pledged with kindness"—he says: That which you give the wet-nurse as a kindness alongside the wage, by increasing it above her [standard] wage, there is no harm in that.
2310 - Musa b. Harun al-Tusi informed us, in what he wrote to me, Husayn b. Muhammad al-Marrudhi narrated to us, Shayban narrated to us, from Qatadah: "If you deliver what you have pledged with kindness," he said: When that is done with consultation and consent from them.
His saying: "And fear Allah and know that Allah is All-Seeing of what you do"
2311 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' narrated to me, from Sa'id b. Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: "And fear Allah"—meaning: Do not disobey Him. Then He cautioned them, saying: "Indeed, Allah is All-Seeing of what you do."
2312 - And by the same chain, from Sa'id b. Jubayr: "Indeed, Allah is All-Seeing of what you do"—meaning: All-Seeing of what was mentioned.
2313 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya b. 'Abd Allah narrated to us, 'Abd Allah b. Lahi'ah narrated to me, from Yazid b. Abi Habib, from Abu al-Husayn Bakr, from 'Uqbah b. 'Amir, he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, while he was reciting this verse: "All-Hearing, All-Seeing."
His saying: "And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind, they [the wives] shall wait for themselves four months and ten [days]"
2314 - Muhammad b. 'Abd Allah b. Yazid al-Muqri' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, from 'Ata', from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding the woman whose husband has died: She may go out, for Allah says: "And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind," and He did not say: "Wait in your homes."
2315 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah b. Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali b. Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: Allah revealed: "And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind, they shall wait for themselves four months and ten [days]." This applies to the woman whose husband has died, unless she is pregnant, for her waiting period is until she delivers what is in her womb.
