4550 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "Indeed, those who purchased disbelief for belief will never harm Allah at all," he said: They are the hypocrites.
4551 - ‘Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja‘far narrated to us, from al-Rabi‘, from Abu al-‘Aliyah, regarding His saying: "And for them is a painful punishment," he said: The painful (al-alim) is the agonizing (al-mujic) everywhere in the Qur’an. It has been narrated from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, Abu Malik, al-Dahhak, Qatadah, Abu ‘Imran al-Jawni, and Muqatil ibn Hayyan similarly.
His saying, the Exalted: "And let not those who disbelieve think that [because] We extend time for them [it is] better for themselves"
4552 - Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, he said: I heard Abu al-Ahwas say: ‘Abdullah said: "[A person is either] one who is at rest or one from whom others are at rest." Abu al-Ahwas said: I think that is as he said: Have you not heard the saying of Allah, the Exalted: "And let not those who disbelieve think that [because] We extend time for them [it is] better for themselves."
4553 - Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Musa ibn Muhkam narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, ‘Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "And let not those who disbelieve think that [because] We extend time for them [it is] better for themselves," he said: Often a disbeliever is deluded.
4554 - Ahmad ibn ‘Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, he said: Then He mentioned the manifestation of the polytheists, and said: "And let not those who disbelieve think that [because] We extend time for them [it is] better for themselves."
His saying, the Exalted: "We only extend time for them so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a humiliating punishment"
4555 - Ahmad ibn Sinan al-Wasiti narrated to us, Abu Mu‘awiyah narrated to us, al-A‘mash narrated to us, from Khaythamah, al-Aswad said: ‘Abdullah said: There is no soul, whether righteous or wicked, but that death is better for it. If he is wicked, then Allah, the Exalted, has said: "And let not those who disbelieve think that [because] We extend time for them [it is] better for themselves. We only extend time for them so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a humiliating punishment."
٤٥٥٠ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَوْلَهُ: إِنَّ الَّذِينَ اشْتَرَوُا الْكُفْرَ بِالإِيمَانِ لَنْ يَضُرُّوا اللَّهَ شَيْئاً قَالَ: هُمُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ.
٤٤٥١ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ، ثنا آدَمُ، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ قَوْلِهِ: وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ قَالَ: الأَلِيمُ: الْمُوجِعُ فِي الْقُرْآنِ كُلِّهِ- وَرُوِيَ عَنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، وَأَبِي مَالِكٍ، وَالضَّحَّاكِ، وَقَتَادَةَ، وَأَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ، وَمُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ كفروا أنما نملي لهم خَيْرٌ لأنفسهم
٤٥٥٢ - حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الأَحْوَصِ قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: مُسْتَرِيحٌ وَمُسْتَرَاحٌ مِنْهُ. قَالَ أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ:
إِنِّي لأَحْسَبَنَّ، كَمَا قَالَ: أَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ إِلَى قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: وَلا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ كفروا أنما نملي لهم خير لأنفسهم.
٤٥٥٣ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ مُحْكَمٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ، ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ الْحَسَنَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: وَلا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّمَا نُمْلِي لَهُمْ خير لأَنْفُسِهِمْ قَالَ: رُبَّ مُغْتَرٍ مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ.
٤٥٥٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَالَ: ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ إِظْهَارَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ: لَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّمَا نُمْلِي لَهُمْ خَيْرٌ لأنفسهم.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِنَّمَا نُمْلِي لَهُمْ لِيَزْدَادُوا إِثْماً وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ
٤٥٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، ثنا الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ الأَسْوَدُ قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّه: مَا مِنْ نَفْسٍ بَرَّةٍ وَلا فَاجِرَةٍ إِلا الْمَوْتُ خَيْرٌ لَهَا، لَئِنْ كَانَ فَاجِراً لَقَدْ قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: وَلا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّمَا نُمْلِي لَهُمْ خَيْرٌ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ، إِنَّمَا نُمْلِي لَهُمْ لِيَزْدَادُوا إِثْماً وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ.
