Translation · EN

4550 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa’ narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "Indeed, those who purchased disbelief for belief will never harm Allah at all," he said: They are the hypocrites.

4551 - ‘Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja‘far narrated to us, from al-Rabi‘, from Abu al-‘Aliyah, regarding His saying: "And for them is a painful punishment," he said: The painful (al-alim) is the agonizing (al-mujic) everywhere in the Qur’an. It has been narrated from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, Abu Malik, al-Dahhak, Qatadah, Abu ‘Imran al-Jawni, and Muqatil ibn Hayyan similarly.

His saying, the Exalted: "And let not those who disbelieve think that [because] We extend time for them [it is] better for themselves"

4552 - Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Salamah ibn Kuhayl, he said: I heard Abu al-Ahwas say: ‘Abdullah said: "[A person is either] one who is at rest or one from whom others are at rest." Abu al-Ahwas said: I think that is as he said: Have you not heard the saying of Allah, the Exalted: "And let not those who disbelieve think that [because] We extend time for them [it is] better for themselves."

4553 - Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Musa ibn Muhkam narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, ‘Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "And let not those who disbelieve think that [because] We extend time for them [it is] better for themselves," he said: Often a disbeliever is deluded.

4554 - Ahmad ibn ‘Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, he said: Then He mentioned the manifestation of the polytheists, and said: "And let not those who disbelieve think that [because] We extend time for them [it is] better for themselves."

His saying, the Exalted: "We only extend time for them so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a humiliating punishment"

4555 - Ahmad ibn Sinan al-Wasiti narrated to us, Abu Mu‘awiyah narrated to us, al-A‘mash narrated to us, from Khaythamah, al-Aswad said: ‘Abdullah said: There is no soul, whether righteous or wicked, but that death is better for it. If he is wicked, then Allah, the Exalted, has said: "And let not those who disbelieve think that [because] We extend time for them [it is] better for themselves. We only extend time for them so that they may increase in sin, and for them is a humiliating punishment."
