His saying, the Exalted: "Let not the free movement of the disbelievers throughout the land deceive you; [it is but] a small enjoyment."
4672 - Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Musa ibn Muhkam narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "Let not the free movement of the disbelievers throughout the land deceive you; [it is but] a small enjoyment. Then their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place," he said: Do not be deceived by the people of the world, O Muhammad.
4673 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "Let not the free movement of the disbelievers throughout the land deceive you," he says: Their traveling throughout the land.
4674 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas informed us, Yazid narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Let not the free movement of the disbelievers throughout the land deceive you": By Allah, no prophet was deceived, nor was he entrusted with any part of the command of Allah until Allah took him [in death] upon that.
His saying, the Exalted: "Then their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place."
4675 - My father narrated to us, Ishaq ibn al-Dayf narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn al-Hakam ibn Aban narrated to us, my father narrated to me, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "and wretched is the resting place," he said: Wretched is the abode.
4676 - My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Abi 'Umar al-'Adani narrated to us, he said: Sufyan said regarding the tafsir of Mujahid: "and wretched is the resting place," he said: Wretched is the bed.
4677 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "and wretched is the resting place," he said: Wretched is that which they have prepared for themselves.
His saying, the Exalted: "But those who feared their Lord will have gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein, as accommodation from Allah."
4678 - 'Amr ibn 'Abd Allah al-Awdi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from Mis'ar, al-Mas'udi, and Sufyan, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu 'Ubaydah, Masruq narrated to me, he said: The rivers of Paradise flow without a channel; its fruit is like [the size of] water buckets. Whenever a fruit is plucked, another returns in its place, and the cluster [of grapes] is twelve cubits long.
