[His saying, the Exalted: "And do not substitute"]

4730 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And do not substitute the evil for the good," he says: Do not squander your wealth.
And the second aspect:
4731 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "And do not substitute the evil for the good," he says: Do not buy the evil with the good.
The third aspect:
4732 - Ahmad ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Yahya ibn Yaman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Isma'il, from Abu Salih: the like of it, and before it: "And do not substitute the evil for the good," he said: Do not be hasty with provision.

4733 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid (1): "And do not substitute the evil for the good," he says: The unlawful for the lawful.
4734 - Ahmad ibn Mahdi al-Asbahani narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Yahya ibn Yaman narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from Abu Salih the like of it, and before it: "And do not substitute the evil for the good," he said: Do not be hasty with unlawful provision before the lawful provision that has been decreed for you comes to you.
4735 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And do not substitute the evil for the good," he says: Do not substitute the unlawful from people's wealth for the lawful from your own wealth. He says: Do not squander your lawful wealth while consuming their unlawful wealth.

4736 - Ahmad ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Yahya ibn Yaman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib: "And do not substitute the evil for the good," he said: Do not give a lean [animal] and take a fat one. It was narrated from al-Zuhri the same as the saying of Ibn al-Musayyib.

٤٧٣٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: وَلا تَتَبَدَّلُوا الْخَبِيثَ بِالطَّيِّبِ يَقُولُ: لَا تُبَذِّرُوا أَمْوَالَكُمْ.

٤٧٣١ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ، ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ قَوْلَهُ: وَلا تَتَبَدَّلُوا الْخَبِيثَ بِالطَّيِّبِ يَقُولُ:
لَا تَشْتَرُوا الْخَبِيثَ بِالطَّيِّبِ.

٤٧٣٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَمَانٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ: مِثْلَهُ وَقَبْلَهُ وَلا تَتَبَدَّلُوا الْخَبِيثَ بِالطَّيِّبِ قَالَ: لَا تَعَجَّلْ بِالرِّزْقِ.

وَلا تَتَبَدَّلُوا الْخَبِيثَ بِالطَّيِّبِ يَقُولُ: الْحَرَامُ بَالْحَلالُ.
٤٧٣٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ الأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَمَانٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ مِثْلَهُ وَقَبْلَهُ: وَلا تَتَبَدَّلُوا الْخَبِيثَ بِالطَّيِّبِ قَالَ: لَا تَعْجَلْ بِالرِّزْقِ الْحَرَامِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَأْتِيَكَ الرِّزْقُ الْحَلالُ الَّذِي قُدِّرَ لَكَ.
٤٧٣٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ: ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: وَلا تَتَبَدَّلُوا الْخَبِيثَ بِالطَّيِّبِ يَقُولُ: لَا تَتَبَدَّلُوا الْحَرَامَ مِنْ أَمْوَالِ النَّاسِ بِالْحَلالِ مِنْ أَمْوَالِكُمْ، يَقُولُ: لَا تُبَذِّرُوا أَمْوَالَكُمُ الْحَلالَ وَتَأْكُلُوا أَمْوَالَهُمُ الْحَرَامَ.
الْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٤٧٣٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَمَانٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ: وَلا تَتَبَدَّلُوا الْخَبِيثَ بِالطَّيِّبِ قَالَ: لَا تُعْطِ مَهْزُولا وَتَأْخُذْ سَمِيناً- وَرُوِيَ عَنِ الزهري نحو قول ابن المسيب.
