The second aspect:
4749 - I read to Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abd al-Hakam, Ibn Wahb informed us, Yunus said: Rabi'ah said regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: "And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphans," he says: Leave them if you fear [to do wrong], for I have made four lawful for you.
His saying, the Exalted: "Then marry those that please you"
4750 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, from Abu Malik [regarding]: "Then marry those that please you": Those that have been made lawful for you. It was narrated from Sa'id ibn (1) Jubayr the like of it.
His saying, the Exalted: "Of the women"
[The first aspect]
4751 - I read to Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abd al-Hakam, Ibn Wahb informed us, Yunus informed me from Ibn Shihab, 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr informed me that he asked 'Aishah about the saying of Allah the Exalted: "Then marry those that please you of the women," she said: They were commanded to marry what was pleasing to them of the women other than those [orphans]. 'Urwah said: 'Aishah said: Then the people sought legal opinions from the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) after this verse regarding them, so Allah the Exalted sent down: "And they request from you a [legal] decree concerning women."
4752 - 'Ali ibn Harb al-Mawsili narrated to us, Malik ibn Su'ayr narrated to us, from Hisham ibn 'Urwah, from his father, from 'Aishah, she said: Allah the Mighty and Majestic said: "Then marry those that please you of the women, two, or three, or four," He says: I have made these lawful for you, so leave this one [who is harmful]. Abu Muhammad said: Meaning: the one who is being harmed. It was narrated from Abu Salih similar to that.
The second aspect:
4753 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Nasr ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zuray' informed us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, [regarding]: "what pleases you of the women": Those who are yours of your women among your relatives.
And the third aspect:
4754 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid (2), his saying: "what pleases you of the women," he says: A lawful marriage.
