[The second perspective]
4775 - My father narrated to us, Yazid ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz and 'Ali ibn Hashim narrated to us, they said: Hushaym narrated to us, from Sayyar, from Abu Salih, regarding His saying: "Then if they are pleased for you with anything of it as a gift, then consume it, wholesome and pleasant," he said: A man used to take the dowry of his daughter when he married her off, so they were forbidden from that.
His saying, the Exalted: "With anything of it as a gift [nafsa]"
4776 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us, Khulayd—meaning Ibn Da'laj—informed us, from al-Hasan, regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: "Then if they are pleased for you with anything of it as a gift," until the death, he said: She has the right to reclaim [it] until death.
4777 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, from Ibn Lahi'ah, from Abu Yunus, from Abu Hurayrah, the like of it. Abu Muhammad said: Something similar was narrated from Mujahid.
4778 - I read to Muhammad, Muhammad narrated to us, Muhammad informed us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "Then if they are pleased for you with anything of it as a gift," he said: Of the dowry. Abu Muhammad said: The like of Muqatil's statement was narrated from 'Ikrimah.
His saying, the Exalted: "Wholesome and pleasant"
4779 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-Suddi, from Ya'fur ibn al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, from 'Ali, he said: If one of you suffers from an ailment, let him ask his wife for three dirhams or something like that, then buy honey, then take the rainwater, for it will combine [to be] wholesome, pleasant... a cure... blessed.
4780 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Wholesome and pleasant," he says: If it is without harm or deception, then it is wholesome and pleasant, as Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has said.
4781 - Abu Muhammad said: Something similar to the statement of 'Ali ibn Abi Talib was narrated from 'Alqamah.
His saying, the Exalted: "And do not give the foolish ones your wealth"
4782 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my paternal uncle al-Husayn narrated to me, from his father, from his grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And do not give the foolish ones your wealth," he says: Do not give the foolish one among your children authority over your wealth.
