4842 - And by it (the same chain), from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "For men is a share," meaning: A portion of what the parents and the nearest relatives have left.

4843 - And by it (the same chain), from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of the Almighty God: "of what the parents and the nearest relatives have left"; that is because the people of the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic era) would not let women or young children inherit anything; they used to designate the inheritance only for the mature men among them. Thus, it was revealed: "For men is a share of what the parents and the nearest relatives have left."
4844 - 'Ali ibn al-Mubarak informed me in what he wrote to me, Zayd ibn al-Mubarak reported to us, Ibn Thawr reported to us, from Ibn Jurayj, Ibn 'Abbas said regarding: "For men is a share of what the parents and the nearest relatives have left," he said: It was revealed concerning Umm Kulthum, the daughter of Umm Kahla, and Tha'labah ibn Aws, and Suwayd; one of them was her husband and the other was the paternal uncle of her children.

4845 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq reported to us, Ma'mar reported to us, from Qatadah, he said: They used to not allow women to inherit, so it was revealed: "And for women is a share of what the parents and the nearest relatives have left."

4846 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah reported to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding his saying: "of what is little or much," meaning: of the inheritance.

4847 - And by it (the same chain), from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding his saying: "a share" (nasiban) - "prescribed" (mafrudan), meaning: a portion.

4848 - My father narrated to us, Abu Nu'aym and Qabisah narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak: "a share prescribed," he said: Fulfilled.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لِلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ
٤٨٤٢ - وَبِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: لِلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ يَعْنِي: حَظّاً مِمَّا تَرَكَ الْوَالِدَانِ وَالأَقْرَبُونَ.

٤٨٤٣ - وَبِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: مِمَّا ترك الوالدان والأقربون وذلك أَهْلَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ كَانُوا لَا يُوَرِّثُونَ النِّسَاءَ وَلا الْوِلْدَانَ الصِّغَارَ شَيْئاً، يَجْعَلُونَ الْمِيرَاثَ لِذِي الأَسْنَانِ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ، فَنَزَلَتْ: لِلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا تَرَكَ الْوَالِدَانِ وَالأَقْرَبُونَ
٤٨٤٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ثنا ابْنُ ثَوْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ ابْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ لِلرِّجَالِ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا تَرَكَ الْوَالِدَانِ وَالأَقْرَبُونَ قَالَ:
نَزَلَتْ فِي أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ، وَبِنْتِ أُمِّ كَحْلَةَ، وَثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، وَسُوَيْدٍ كَانَ أَحَدُهُمْ زَوْجَهَا وَالآخَرُ عَمَّ وَلَدِهَا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَلِلنِّسَاءِ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا تَرَكَ الْوَالِدَانِ وَالأَقْرَبُونَ
٤٨٤٥ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ «١» ، أَنْبَأَ مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ: كَانُوا لَا يُوَرِّثُونَ النِّسَاءَ فَنَزَلَتْ: وَلِلنِّسَاءِ نَصِيبٌ مِمَّا تَرَكَ الْوَالِدَانِ وَالأَقْرَبُونَ.

٤٨٤٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَوْلَهُ: مِمَّا قَلَّ مِنْهُ أَوْ كَثُرَ يَعْنِي: مِنَ الْمِيرَاثِ.

٤٨٤٧ - وَبِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَوْلَهُ: نَصِيباً مَفْرُوضاً يَعْنِي: حَظّاً.

٤٨٤٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، وَقَبِيصَةُ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جُوَيْبِرٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ: نَصِيبًا مَفْرُوضًا قال: وفيا.
