Translation · EN

5074 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And do not marry those [women] whom your fathers married," he says: Every woman your father or your son has married, whether he has consummated the marriage with her or not, she is unlawful for you.

5075 - My father narrated to us, 'Amr ibn 'Awn narrated to us, Khalid informed us, from Yunus, from al-Hasan, regarding His saying: "And do not marry those [women] whom your fathers married," he said: It is that you possess the marriage contract, and it is not by consummation.

5076 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Safwan—meaning ibn Salih—and 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, both saying: al-Walid narrated to us, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Maryam narrated to us, from a group of elders, he said: A man shall not marry the wife of his paternal grandfather, because he is among the "fathers," for Allah Almighty says: "And do not marry those [women] whom your fathers married."

His saying, the Almighty: "Except what has already occurred"

5077 - It was mentioned from Abu Hudhayfah Musa ibn Mas'ud, Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Asim, from Zirr ibn Hubaysh, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b that he used to recite it: "And do not marry those [women] whom your fathers married, except what has already occurred, except for those who have died."

5078 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Safwan ibn Salih narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Zuhayr ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from 'Ata' ibn Abi Rabah, regarding the saying of Allah Almighty: "Except what has already occurred," he says: In your Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic era).

His saying, the Almighty: "Indeed, it was an immorality"

Its interpretation has already preceded.

His saying, the Almighty: "And an abomination (maqtan)"

5079 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Safwan ibn Salih narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Zuhayr ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from 'Ata' ibn Abi Rabah, regarding His saying: "Indeed, it was an immorality and an abomination," he said: Allah hates [the one who commits] it.

His saying, the Almighty: "And an evil way"

5080 - And with the same chain from 'Ata' ibn Abi Rabah, regarding "And an evil way," he said: A path for whoever practices it.

His saying, the Almighty: "Prohibited to you are your mothers, your daughters, your sisters, your paternal aunts, your maternal aunts, brother’s daughters, and sister’s daughters."
