His saying, the Almighty: "out of hostility"
5190 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abdullah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "out of hostility" [it means]: aggression without right.
His saying, the Almighty: "and injustice"
5191 - And by the same chain from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "and injustice" [it means]: injustice without right, so he dies upon that.
His saying, the Almighty: "We will cast him into the Fire"
5192 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abdullah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar ibn al-Khattab who said: When the verses of obligation [regarding major sins] were revealed, which Allah made the Fire the penalty for those who commit them—such as this verse "We will cast him into the Fire" and its likes—we used to testify against anyone who did any of these things that he would be among the people of the Fire, until [the verse] was revealed: "Indeed, Allah does not forgive associating others with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills." So when it was revealed, we refrained from testifying, and we did not testify that they were in the Fire, though we feared for them on account of what Allah had made binding upon them.
His saying, the Almighty: "And that is for Allah easy"
5193 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abdullah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "And that is for Allah easy," he says: His punishment is trivial for Allah.
His saying, the Almighty: "If you avoid the major sins which you are forbidden from"
Its interpretation:
It is: Shirk (associating partners with Allah), killing one's child, and committing adultery with one's neighbor's wife.
[5194] Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, 'Abdullah ibn Numayr narrated to us, al-A'mash informed me, from Shaqiq ibn Salamah, from 'Amr ibn Shurahbil, from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked about the major sins, and he said: "That you set up a rival for Allah while He created you, or that you kill your child out of fear that he might eat with you, or that you commit adultery with the wife of your neighbor." Then he recited this verse: "And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity..." [up to] the end of the verse.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: عُدْوَاناً
٥١٩٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ، بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: عُدْوَاناً يَعْنِي: اعْتِدَاءً بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَظُلْماً
٥١٩١ - وَبِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَظُلْماً يَعْنِي: ظُلْماً بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ فَيَمُتْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَسَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِ نَاراً
٥١٩٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ: لَمَّا نَزَلَتِ الْمُوجِبَاتُ الَّتِي أَوْجَبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهَا النَّارَ لِمَنْ عَمِلَ بِهَا نَحْوُ هَذِهِ الآيَةِ فَسَوْفَ نُصْلِيهِ نَاراً وَنَحْوَهَا، كُنَّا نَشْهَدُ عَلَى مَنْ فَعَلَ شَيْئاً مِنْ هَذَا أَنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ، حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ فَلَمَّا نَزَلَتْ كَفَفْنَا عَنِ الشَّهَادَةِ، وَلَمْ نَشْهَدْ أَنَّهُمْ فِي النَّارِ، وَخِفْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ بِمَا أَوْجَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيراً
٥١٩٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ قَوْلَهُ: وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ عَلَى اللَّهِ يَسِيراً يَقُولُ: كَانَ عَذَابُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ هَيِّناً.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِنْ تَجْتَنِبُوا كَبَائِرَ مَا تُنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ
تَفْسِيرُهَا:
إِنَّهَا الشِّرْكُ وَقَتْلُ الْوَلَدِ وَالزِّنَا بِحَلِيلَةِ الْجَارِ

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ شَقِيقِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْكَبَائِرِ، فَقَالَ: أَنْ تَدْعُوَ لِلَّهِ نِدّاً وَهُوَ خَلَقَكَ، أَوْ أَنْ تَقْتُلَ وَلَدَكَ أَنْ يَطْعَمَ مَعَكَ، أَوْ أَنْ تُزَانِيَ حَلِيلَةَ جَارِكَ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ: وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهاً آخَرَ «١» الآية.
