The second aspect:
5464 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah ibn Musa narrated to us, from Isra'il, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, regarding His saying: "Naqir" (a speck), [he said:] "That which is in the center of the date seed."
His saying, the Exalted: "Or do they envy"
5465 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "Or do they envy the people?" He said: "They are the Jews."
5466 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, he said: I heard Ibn 'Uyaynah saying: Allah, Blessed and Exalted, says: "The envious person is an enemy to My blessing, discontent with My decree, and not satisfied with the portion I have apportioned for him."
His saying, the Exalted: "The people"
5467 - Abu Sa'id ibn al-Ashajj narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah narrated to us, from Isra'il, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, regarding His saying: "Or do they envy the people for what Allah has given them of His bounty?" He said: "They envy Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, because he was not from among them, and they disbelieved in him."
5468 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Malik ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Mas'ud ibn Sa'd narrated to us, Jabir al-Ju'fi narrated to us, from Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn 'Ali, regarding "Or do they envy the people for what Allah has given them of His bounty?" He said: "We are the people."
5469 - My father narrated to us, Abu Ma'mar ibn Ibrahim ibn Ma'mar and 'Amr ibn Rafi' narrated to us, they said: Hushaym narrated to us, from Khalid, from 'Ikrimah, regarding His saying: "Or do they envy the people for what Allah has given them of His bounty?" He said: "Muhammad and his companions."
The sequence belongs to Abu Ma'mar, and in the hadith of 'Amr, he said: "He is the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, specifically."
His saying, the Exalted: "For what Allah has given them of His bounty"
5470 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed me in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle al-Husayn narrated to me, my father narrated to me from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Or do they envy the people for what Allah has given them of His bounty?" This is because the People of the Scripture said: "Muhammad claims that he was given what he was given while he is humble, yet he has nine wives, and his concern is nothing but marriage. What king is better than this?!" So Allah, the Exalted, said: "Or do they envy the people for what Allah has given them of His bounty?" And similar to this was narrated from 'Atiyyah, al-Dahhak, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, and al-Suddi.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٥٤٦٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ قَوْلَهُ: نَقِيراً الَّذِي فِي وَسَطِ النَّوَاةِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَمْ يَحْسُدُونَ
٥٤٦٥ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، قَوْلَهُ: أَمْ يَحْسُدُونَ النَّاسَ قَالَ: هُمْ يَهُودُ.
٥٤٦٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ: يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى: الْحَاسِدُ عَدُوٌّ لِنِعْمَتِي، مُتَسَخِّطٌ لقضائي، غير راضي لِي بِالْقَسَمِ الَّذِي قَسَمْتُ لَهُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: الناس
٥٤٦٧ - حدثنا أبو سعيد بن الأَشَجُّ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ قَوْلَهُ: أَمْ يَحْسُدُونَ النَّاسَ عَلَى مَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ قال: يحسدون محمد صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ لَمْ يَكُنْ مِنْهُمْ، وَكَفَرُوا بِهِ.
٥٤٦٨ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا مَسْعُودُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، ثنا جَابِرٌ الْجُعْفِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ أَمْ يَحْسُدُونَ النَّاسَ عَلَى مَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ قَالَ: نَحْنُ النَّاسُ.
٥٤٦٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا أَبُو مَعْمَرِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ وَعَمْرُو بْنُ رَافِعٍ قَالا: ثنا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: أَمْ يَحْسُدُونَ النَّاسَ عَلَى ما آتاهم الله من فَضْلِهِ قَالَ: مُحَمَّدٌ وَأَصْحَابُهُ.
وَالسِّيَاقُ لأَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: هُوَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاصَّةً.

٥٤٧٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَوْفِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّيَ الْحُسَيْنُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلَهُ: أَمْ يَحْسُدُونَ النَّاسَ عَلَى مَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ من فضله وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ قَالُوا: زَعَمَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَنَّهُ أُوتِيَ مَا أُوتِيَ فِي
