5517 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu al-Duha, from Masruq, he said: Ubayy ibn Ka'b said: Among the trusts is that a woman is entrusted with her chastity.

5518 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due," he means: The Sultan, he enjoins the women.

It was reported from Muhammad ibn Ka'b, Shahr ibn Hawshab, and Zayd ibn Aslam that they said: This pertains to the rulers (al-umara').

5519 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far narrated to us, from his father, from al-Rabi', regarding "commands you to render trusts to whom they are due," he said: It concerns that which is between you and the people.

His saying, the Exalted: "And when you judge between people, judge with justice"

5520 - My father narrated to us, al-Hasan ibn 'Atiyyah narrated to us, Hasan ibn Salih narrated to us, from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, from Mus'ab ibn Sa'd, he said: 'Ali said: It is a duty upon the Imam to judge by what Allah has revealed, and to render the trust. If he does that, it becomes incumbent upon the Muslims to hear him and obey him, and to respond when they are called.

5521 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn Idris narrated to us, from Layth, from Shahr ibn Hawshab regarding His saying: "And when you judge between people, judge with justice," he said: It was revealed concerning the rulers exclusively.

5522 - My father narrated to me, al-Husayn ibn al-Aswad narrated to us, Abu Usamah narrated to us, Abu Makin al-Ansari narrated to us, from Zayd ibn Aslam regarding His saying: "And when you judge between people, judge with justice," he said: It was revealed concerning the judges of the people, regarding whoever holds any authority over the affairs of the people.

5523 - 'Amr al-Awdi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, from Abu Makin, he said: I heard Zayd ibn Aslam saying: "Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due, and when you judge between people, judge with justice," he said: This verse was revealed concerning those in authority (wulat al-amr).
