His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, Allah is excellent in that which He instructs you."
5524 - Yahya ibn 'Abdak al-Qazwini narrated to us, al-Muqri' (meaning 'Abd Allah ibn Zayd) narrated to us, Harmalah (meaning ibn 'Imran al-Tujibi al-Misri) narrated to us, Abu Sulayman narrated to me, he said: I heard Abu Hurayrah saying: [Regarding] this verse: "Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due," up to His saying: "Indeed, Allah is ever Hearing and Seeing," he placed his thumb upon his ear and the finger next to it upon his eye, and said: "This is how I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, recite it and place his finger." Abu Zakariyya said: Al-Muqri' described it to us, and Abu Zakariyya placed his right thumb on his right eye and the finger next to it on his right ear, and showed us and said: "Like this."
His saying, the Exalted: "Indeed, Allah is ever Hearing and Seeing"
5525 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us: "Hearing" means He hears what they say.
His saying, the Exalted: "Seeing"
5526 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, from Abu al-Khayr, from 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, while he was reciting this verse: "Hearing and Seeing," he would say: "All-Seeing of all things."
His saying, the Exalted: "O you who have believed, obey Allah"
5527 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim Duhaym narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, from al-Awza'i, from al-Zuhri, he said: When Allah, the Exalted, says: "O you who have believed, do [such and such]," the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is [included] among them.
His saying, the Exalted: "and obey the Messenger"
5528 - al-Mundhir ibn Shadhan narrated to us, Ya'la ibn 'Ubayd narrated to us, 'Abd al-Malik narrated to us, from 'Ata', regarding His saying: "Obey Allah and obey the Messenger," he said: The obedience to the Messenger is following the Book and the Sunnah.
His saying, the Exalted: "and those in authority among you"

5529 - Ahmad ibn Yunus ibn al-Musayyab al-Dabbi and Ahmad ibn Mansur al-Ramadi narrated to us, both said: Hajjaj narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, Ya'la ibn Muslim informed me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas that he said: "O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you," he said: It was revealed concerning 'Abd Allah ibn Hudhafah when the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, sent him on a military expedition. The phrasing is that of Ahmad ibn Yunus.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِنَّ اللَّهَ نِعِمَّا يَعِظُكُمْ بِهِ
٥٥٢٤ - حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدَكَ الْقَزْوِينِيُّ، ثنا الْمُقْرِئُ يَعْنِي: عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ زَيْدٍ ثنا حَرْمَلَةُ يعني بن عِمْرَانَ التُّجِيبِيَّ الْمِصْرِيَّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ: هَذِهِ الآيَةَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تُؤَدُّوا الْأَمَانَاتِ إِلَى أَهْلِهَا إِلَى قَوْلِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ نِعِمَّا يَعِظُكُمْ بِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ سَمِيعاً بَصِيراً وَيَضَعُ إِبْهَامَهُ عَلَى أُذُنِهِ وَالَّتِي تَلِيهَا عَلَى عَيْنِهِ، وَيَقُولُ: هَكَذَا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُهَا وَيَضَعُ إِصْبَعَهُ، قَالَ أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا وَصَفَهُ لَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ وَوَضَعَ أَبُو زَكَرِيَّا إِبْهَامَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى عَيْنِهِ الْيُمْنَى وَالَّتِي تَلِيهَا عَلَى الأُذُنِ الْيُمْنَى، وَأَرَانَا فَقَالَ: هَكَذَا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ سَمِيعاً بَصِيراً
٥٥٢٥ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو زُنَيْجٌ ثنا سَلَمَةُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ سَمِيعاً أَيْ سُمَيْعٌ مَا يَقُولُونَ.

٥٥٢٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُقْرِئُ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ: سَمِيعاً بَصِيراً يَقُولُ: بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ بَصِيرٌ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ
٥٥٢٧ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ دُحَيْمٌ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ: إِذَا قَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إفْعَلُوا، فَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ
٥٥٢٨ - حَدَّثَنَا الْمُنْذِرُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ، ثنا يَعْلَى بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، قَوْلَهُ: أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ قَالَ: طَاعَةُ الرَّسُولِ: اتِّبَاعُ الْكِتَابِ وَالسُّنَّةِ.
