His saying, the Exalted: "In the cause of Allah"
5601 - And by the same chain from Sa'id, regarding His saying: "In the cause of Allah," he said: In the obedience of Allah.
His saying, the Exalted: "Those who exchange the life of this world for the Hereafter"
5602 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "So let them fight in the cause of Allah, those who exchange the life of this world for the Hereafter," he says: They sell the life of this world for the Hereafter.
His saying, the Exalted: "And whoever fights"
5603 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "And whoever fights in the cause of Allah," meaning: And whoever fights the polytheists.

5604 - And by the same chain from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "then gets killed," meaning: the enemy kills him.
His saying, the Exalted: "or achieves victory"
5605 - And by the same chain from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "or achieves victory," meaning: he overcomes the enemy among the polytheists.
His saying, the Exalted: "We shall give him a great reward"
5607 - And by the same chain from Sa'id, regarding His saying: "We shall give him a reward," meaning: a recompense.
His saying, the Exalted: "great"
5608 - And by the same chain from Sa'id, regarding His saying: "a great reward," meaning: an abundant recompense in Paradise. He thus made the killer and the killed among the Muslims, in the jihad against the polytheists, partners in the reward.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ
٥٦٠١ - وَبِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ قَوْلَهُ: فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: فِي طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: الَّذِينَ يَشْرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا بِالآخِرَةِ
٥٦٠٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلَهُ: فَلْيُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ الَّذِينَ يَشْرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا بالآخِرَةِ يَقُولُ:
يَبِيعُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا بِالآخِرَةِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمَنْ يُقَاتِلْ
٥٦٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَوْلَهُ: وَمَنْ يُقَاتِلْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي:
وَمَنْ يُقَاتِلِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَيُقْتَلْ
٥٦٠٤ - وَبِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَوْلَهُ: فَيُقْتَلُ يَعْنِي: يَقْتُلُهُ الْعَدُوُّ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَوْ يَغْلِبْ
٥٦٠٥ - وَبِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَوْلَهُ: أَوْ يَغْلِبْ يَعْنِي: يَغْلِبُ الْعَدُوَّ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْراً عَظِيماً
٥٦٠٧ - وَبِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ قَوْلَهُ: فَسَوْفَ نُؤْتِيهِ أَجْراً يَعْنِي: جَزَاءً.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: عَظِيماً
٥٦٠٨ - وَبِهِ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ قَوْلَهُ: أَجْراً عَظِيماً يَعْنِي: جَزَاءً وَافِراً فِي الْجَنَّةِ، فَجَعَلَ الْقَاتِلَ وَالْمَقْتُولَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي جِهَادِ الْمُشْرِكِينَ شَرِيكَيْنِ فِي الأَجْرِ.
