Translation · EN

5609 - 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Khalaf al-Nasri al-Himsi narrated to us, Muhammad—meaning ibn Shu'ayb—narrated to us, from al-Awza'i, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir narrated to me regarding His saying: "And whoever fights in the cause of Allah, then gets killed or achieves victory, We shall give him a great reward," he said: The great reward is Paradise.

His saying, the Exalted: "And why should you not fight in the cause of Allah"

5610 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, "And why should you not fight in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children?" He commanded the believers to fight on behalf of oppressed believers who were in Makkah.

His saying, the Exalted: "and the oppressed among men, women, and children"

5611 - My father narrated to us, Abu Nu'aym al-Fadl ibn Dukayn and Ibn Abi 'Umar narrated to us, they said: Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from 'Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Yazid, he heard Ibn 'Abbas saying: I and my mother were among the oppressed. And in the hadith of Ibn Abi 'Umar there is an addition: "among men, women, and children," so I was among the children, and my mother was among the women.

5612 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to us, my paternal uncle narrated to us, my father narrated to me, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "and the oppressed among men, women, and children," they were Muslim people who were in Makkah, unable to leave it and migrate, so Allah excused them; they are those people. It has been narrated from 'Ata' similar to this.

5613 - My father narrated to us, Abu Ghassan Malik ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to me regarding His saying: "And why should you not fight in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children?" He said: And why should you not fight in the cause of Allah and on behalf of the oppressed.

His saying, the Exalted: "who say, 'Our Lord, take us out of this city whose people are wrongdoers'"

[The first interpretation]

5614 - My father narrated to us, one of the narrators narrated to us, 'Ali ibn Abi Bakr narrated to us, from Musa ibn Abi Talhah, from his father, from 'Aishah, regarding His saying: "Our Lord, take us out of this city whose people are wrongdoers," he said: Makkah.

And it was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas from the narration of Ibn 'Atiyyah, from his father, and Mujahid and al-Suddi similar to this.
