His saying, the Exalted: "And they said, 'Our Lord, why have You ordained fighting for us?'"

5633 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi reported to me in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my paternal uncle narrated to me, from his father, from his father, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And they said, 'Our Lord, why have You ordained fighting for us?'" So Allah forbade this nation from doing what they did.

His saying, the Exalted: "'If only You had delayed us for a short time!'"

5634 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "'If only You had delayed us for a short time!'" meaning death.

His saying, the Exalted: "Say, 'The enjoyment of this world is little.'"

5635 - My father narrated to me, Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from Hisham, who said: Al-Hasan recited: "Say, 'The enjoyment of this world is little.'" He said: "May Allah have mercy on a servant who keeps company with it based on that. What is this world, all of it from beginning to end, but like a man who slept a nap and saw in his dream some of what he loves, then he woke up."

5636 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Ja'far al-Raqqi narrated to us, Abu al-Malih narrated to us, from Maymun ibn Mihran, who said: "The world is little; the little has passed, and only a little of the little remains."

His saying, the Exalted: "'And the Hereafter is better for he who feared Allah.'"

5637 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "for he who feared Allah" He says: He who feared Allah's acts of disobedience.

5638 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah: As for His saying: "for he who feared Allah" He says: For he who fears [Him] regarding what remains.

His saying, the Exalted: "'And you will not be wronged, even by a hair breadth.'"

His saying, the Exalted: "Wherever you may be."

5639 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "Wherever you may be" He said: On earth, death will overtake you."
