this land, then whenever you are present, the red and the black among you are safe, and you are the best of people for the people.
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas, Mujahid, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, 'Ata', and 'Atiyyah that they said: The best of people for the people.
The Fifth Aspect:
3973 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far narrated to us from his father, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Abu al-'Aliyah, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b regarding His saying: "You are the best nation produced for mankind," he said: There was no nation that responded more to Islam than this nation, and for that reason He said: "You are the best nation produced for mankind."
The Sixth Aspect:
3974 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Subayh al-Kufi narrated to us, 'Anbasah al-'Abid narrated to us, from Jabir, from Abu Ja'far regarding: "You are the best nation produced for mankind," he said: The best of the family of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
The Seventh Aspect:
3975 - It was mentioned from 'Ubayd Allah ibn Musa, from 'Isa ibn Musa, from 'Atiyyah: "You are the best nation produced for mankind," he said: The best of people for the people; you bore witness for the prophets whose people disbelieved in them by delivering the message.
The Eighth Aspect:
3976 - My father narrated to us, Malik ibn Isma'il informed us, Zuhayr narrated to us, Khusayf narrated to us, from 'Ikrimah regarding His saying: "You are the best nation produced for mankind," he said: There has never been a nation that entered into it [Islam] from among the diverse types of people other than this nation.
His saying, the Exalted: "You enjoin the good."
3977 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih the scribe of al-Layth narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, meaning His saying: "You enjoin the good," he says: You enjoin them to testify that there is no god but Allah, and to acknowledge what Allah has revealed, and you fight them for that, and 'there is no god but Allah' is the greatest of good.
It was narrated from Abu al-'Aliyah that he said: [It means] the oneness of Allah (Tawhid).

بِلادِ هَذَا، فَكُلَّمَا كُنْتُمْ أَمِنَ فِيكُمُ الأَحْمَرُ وَالأَسْوَدُ، وَأَنْتُمْ خَيْرُ النَّاسِ لِلنَّاسِ
وَرُوِيَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَمُجَاهِدٍ «١» وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، وَعَطَاءٍ، وَعَطِيَّةَ أَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا: خَيْرُ النَّاسِ لِلنَّاسِ.

٣٩٧٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ، عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ قَوْلَهُ: كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ قَالَ: لَمْ تَكُنْ أُمَّةٌ أَكْثَرَ اسْتِجَابَةِ فِي الإِسْلامِ مِنْ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةِ فَمِنْ ثَمَّ قَالَ:
كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ

٣٩٧٤ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صُبَيْحٍ الْكُوفِيُّ، ثنا عَنْبَسَةُ الْعَابِدُ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ قَالَ: خَيْرُ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
الْوَجْهُ السَّابِعُ:
٣٩٧٥ - ذُكِرَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُوسَى، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ مُوسَى، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ:
كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ قَالَ: خَيْرُ النَّاسِ لِلنَّاسِ شَهِدْتُمْ لِلنَّبِيِّينَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرَ بِهِمْ قَوْمُهُمْ بِالْبَلاغِ.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّامِنُ:
٣٩٧٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي أَنْبَأَ مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا زُهَيْرٌ، ثنا خُصَيْفٌ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ قَالَ: لَمْ تَكُنْ أُمَّةٌ دَخَلَ فِيهَا مِنْ أَصْنَافِ النَّاسِ غَيْرَ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ
٣٩٧٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ كَاتِبُ اللَّيْثِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، يَعْنِي قَوْلَهُ: تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ يَقُولُ:
تَأْمُرُونَهُمْ أَنْ يَشْهَدُوا أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إلا الله، والا قرار بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ وَيُقَاتِلُونَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ، وَلا إِلَهَ إلا لله أَعْظَمُ الْمَعْرُوفِ.
وَرُوِيَ عَنِ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ قَالَ: التوحيد.
