[His saying, the Exalted: 'But Allah has cast them back [to disbelief] for what they earned']
[The First Perspective]
5745 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas: 'But Allah has cast them back [to disbelief] for what they earned'—he says: 'He has overturned them.'
The Second Perspective:

The Third Perspective:
5747 - Al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid ibn Mazid informed us by reading, Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb informed me, 'Uthman ibn 'Ata' informed me, from his father 'Ata', regarding His saying: 'He cast them back [to disbelief] for what they earned'—it is said: 'He turned them back for what they earned.'
His saying, the Exalted: 'Do you want to guide those whom Allah has led astray? And whoever Allah leads astray, never will you find for him a way.'
[5748] It was read to Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la, Ibn Wahb reported, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam informed me, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) addressed the people and said: 'What do you think of a man who causes division among the companions of the Messenger of Allah and speaks evil of the family of the Messenger of Allah, while Allah has declared her innocent?' Then he read what Allah the Almighty and Majestic revealed concerning the innocence of 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) in a narration. Then the Quran was revealed regarding that: 'Then what is the matter with you [becoming] two groups regarding the hypocrites? But Allah has cast them back [to disbelief] for what they earned. Do you want to guide those whom Allah has led astray? And whoever Allah leads astray, never will you find for him a way.' After this verse, no one spoke or talked about it [the incident] anymore.
His saying, the Exalted: 'They wish you would disbelieve as they disbelieved so you would be alike.'
