[His saying, the Exalted: "Believing."]
[The First Interpretation]
[5785] Ahmad ibn Mansur al-Ramadi narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah ibn Musa narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from al-Minhal ibn 'Amr, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn 'Abbas who said: A man came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "I have an expiation [obligatory upon me], and I have a black slave girl." He [the Prophet] said: "Bring her to me." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Do you testify that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah?" She said: "Yes." He said: "Free her."
[5786] Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn Yaman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Ibn Jurayj, from 'Ata', regarding His saying: "The freeing of a believing slave," he said: "She was born into Islam."
The Second Interpretation:
[5787] My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "The freeing of a believing slave," he means by "believing," one who has comprehended faith, fasted, and prayed. It was narrated from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, al-Hasan, Ibrahim, and al-Hakam something similar.
[5788] Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn Yaman narrated to us, from Sufyan al-Thawri, from Abu Hayyan al-Taymi, from al-Sha'bi, [regarding] "the freeing of a believing slave," he said: "She has prayed." It was narrated from Mujahid, 'Ata', and Qatadah something similar.
His saying, the Exalted: "And blood money."
[5789] My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, al-Layth narrated to me; 'Aqil narrated to me, from Ibn Shihab, regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: "It is not for a believer to kill a believer except by mistake. And whoever kills a believer by mistake, then the freeing of a believing slave and blood money delivered to his family." It has reached us that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prescribed it as one hundred camels.
His saying, the Exalted: "Delivered."
[5790] 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Musafir narrated to us, 'Ali ibn 'Asim narrated to us, Sufyan ibn Husayn narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, regarding His saying: "Blood money delivered," he said: "Delivered: the complete [amount]."

٥٧٨٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ عَلَيَّ أَيْ رَقَبَةً، وَعِنْدِي أَمَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ، فَقَالَ: ائْتِنِي بِهَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَتَشْهَدِينَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ وَأَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ؟
قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ. قَالَ: أَعْتِقْهَا «١» .
٥٧٨٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا ابْنُ يَمَانٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُؤْمِنَةٍ قَالَ: وُلِدَتْ عَلَى الإِسْلامِ.
الْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٥٧٨٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابن عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلَهُ: فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُؤْمِنَةٍ يَعْنِي بِالْمُؤْمِنَةِ مَنْ قَدْ عَقَلَ الإِيمَانَ وَصَامَ وَصَلَّى. وَرُوِيَ عَنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، وَالْحَسَنِ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَالْحَكَمِ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
٥٧٨٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا ابْنُ يَمَانٍ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مؤمنة قَالَ: قَدْ صَلَّتْ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، وَعَطَاءٍ. وَقَتَادَةَ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَدِيَةٌ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثٌ/ حَدَّثَنِي عَقِيلٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: وَمَا كَانَ لِمُؤْمِنٍ أَنْ يَقْتُلَ مُؤْمِنًا إِلا خَطَاً وَمَنْ قَتَلَ مُؤْمِناً خَطَاً فَتَحْرِيرُ رَقَبَةٍ مُؤْمِنَةٍ وَدِيَةٌ مُسَلَّمَةٌ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ فَقَدْ بَلَغَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَضَهَا مِائَةً مِنَ الإِبِلِ «٢» .
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: مُسَلَّمَةٌ
