Translation · EN

"And they hasten in [all] good deeds, and those are among the righteous," he said: They rushed to one another when the nations became divided.

His saying, the Exalted: "And whatever they do of good"

4017 - Al-Husayn ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Musa ibn Muhkam narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "And whatever they do of good," he said: Whatever the son of Adam does of good.

4018 - 'Abd Allah ibn Ahmad al-Dashtaki mentioned, my father narrated to us, 'Attaf ibn Ghazwan narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Mis'ar narrated to us, he said: I asked Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah about the saying of Allah: "And whatever they do of good - never will it be denied to them," so Allah expanded for them [the reward] for voluntary acts, regarding the Jews and the Bedouins.

His saying, the Exalted: "Never will it be denied to them"

4019 - Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Musa ibn Muhkam narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "Never will it be denied to them," [he said]: They will never be wronged.

4020 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far narrated to us, from his father, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, regarding his saying: "And whatever they do of good - never will it be denied to them," he says: It will never be lost to you.

His saying, the Exalted: "And Allah is Knowing of the righteous."

[The first interpretation]

4021 - My father narrated to us, Ishaq ibn Ahmad al-Khazzar narrated to us, Ishaq ibn Sulayman—meaning al-Razi—narrated to us, from al-Mughirah ibn Muslim, from Maymun Abu Hamzah, he said: I was sitting with Abu Wa'il when a man entered upon him called Abu 'Afif, one of the companions of Mu'adh. Shaqiq ibn Salamah said to him: O Abu 'Afif, will you not tell us about Mu'adh ibn Jabal? He said: Yes, I heard him saying: "People will be gathered on the Day of Resurrection in one plain, then a caller will call: 'Where are the righteous?' So they will stand in the shelter of the Most Merciful; Allah will not veil Himself from them nor will He hide." I said: Who are the righteous? He said: A people who feared shirk (polytheism) and the worship of idols, and they were sincere in their worship to Allah; so they will pass [safely] to Paradise.
