Translation · EN

4152 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, who said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "And obey Allah and the Messenger that you may be shown mercy," is a reproof for those who disobeyed His Messenger when he commanded them with what he commanded them on that day and on other than it.

His saying, the Exalted: "That you may be shown mercy"

4153 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to me, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah, the Exalted: "That you may," meaning: in order that you may be shown mercy and not be punished.

His saying, the Exalted: "And race"

4154 - And through the same chain from Sa'id regarding the saying of Allah, the Exalted: "And race," he says: Race with righteous deeds.

His saying, the Exalted: "Toward forgiveness from your Lord"

4155 - And through the same chain from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah, the Exalted: "And race toward forgiveness from your Lord," he said: For your sins.

His saying, the Exalted: "And a Paradise"

4156 - 'Amr ibn 'Abd Allah al-Awdi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us from Sa'dan al-Juhani, from Sa'd ibn Mujahid al-Ta'i, from Abu Mudillah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: We said: O Messenger of Allah, tell us about Paradise, what is its construction? He said: A brick of silver and a brick of gold, its mortar is musk of the most fragrant kind, its pebbles are jacinth and pearls, and its fragrance is waras (a yellow plant) and saffron. Whoever enters it will dwell forever and will not die, will be in bliss, will not experience misery, their youth will not fade, and their garments will not wear out.

His saying, the Exalted: "Its width is the heavens and the earth"

4157 - My father narrated to us, 'Ali ibn Muhammad al-Tanafisi narrated to us, Waki' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us from 'Ammar al-Duhni, from Humayd, from Kurayb, who said: Ibn 'Abbas sent me to a man from the People of the Scripture to ask him about this verse: "A Paradise whose width is the heavens and the earth." He said: So he brought out the scriptures of Moses and began looking. He said: It will be joined together just as a garment is joined together, and as for its length, no one can measure its extent except Allah.
