4177 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us regarding "And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves," meaning: through an act of disobedience.
His saying, the Exalted: "remember Allah"
4178 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali informed us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "remember Allah," he said: They remembered Allah at the time of those sins and the immorality.
4179 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq [said] regarding "remember Allah," he said: They remembered Allah's prohibition of it and what He has forbidden to them regarding it.
His saying, the Exalted: "and seek forgiveness for their sins"
4180 - Yunus ibn Habib narrated to us, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn al-Mughirah narrated to me, he said: I heard 'Ali ibn Rabi'ah al-Asadi narrating from Asma' or Ibn Asma' al-Fazari, he said: I heard 'Ali saying: "When I heard a hadith from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, Allah would benefit me with it as much as He willed that He benefit me. And when one of his companions narrated to me, I would make him swear an oath, and if he swore for me, I believed him." 'Ali said: "And Abu Bakr narrated to me—and Abu Bakr spoke the truth—that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: 'There is no servant who commits a sin, then performs ablution (wudu), prays two rak'ahs, and seeks Allah's forgiveness, except that he is forgiven.' Then he recited this verse: 'And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins.'"
4181 - My father narrated to us, 'Imran ibn Musa al-Tarsusi narrated to us, 'Abd al-Samad ibn Yazid narrated to us, he said: I heard al-Fudayl saying: The servant's saying "I seek forgiveness from Allah," its interpretation is: "Grant me pardon."
His saying, the Exalted: "And who can forgive sins except Allah?"
4182 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali informed us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "and seek forgiveness for their sins," Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says to His Prophet: "And who can forgive sins except Allah?"

٤١٧٧ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ أَيْ بِمَعْصِيَةٍ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ
٤١٧٨ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ ثنا بُكَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ قَوْلَهُ: ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ قَالَ: ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ عِنْدَ تِلْكَ الذُّنُوبِ وَالْفَاحِشَةِ.
٤١٧٩ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، قَالَ: مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ:
ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ قَالَ: ذَكَرُوا نَهْيَ اللَّهِ عَنْهَا وَمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْهَا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لِذُنُوبِهِمْ
٤١٨٠ - حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنِي عثمان ابن الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ رَبِيعَةَ الْأَسَدِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ أَوِ ابْنِ أَسْمَاءَ الْفَزَارِيِّ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ: كُنْتُ إِذَا سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثاً نَفَعَنِي اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِمَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَنْفَعُنِي، وَإِذَا حَدَّثَنِي أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ اسْتَحْلَفْتُهُ، فَإِذَا حَلَفَ لِي صَدَقَتُهُ، قَالَ عَلِيٌّ: وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَصَدَقَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يُذْنِبِ ذَنْبًا ثُمَّ يَتَوَضَّأُ وَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ إِلا غُفِرَ لَهُ ثُمَّ تَلا هَذِهِ الآيَةَ: وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لِذُنُوبِهِمْ «١» .
٤١٨١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى الطَّرَسُوسِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْفُضَيْلَ يَقُولُ: قَوْلُ الْعَبْدِ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ قَالَ: تَفْسِيرُهَا أَقِلْنِي.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمِنْ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلا اللَّه
٤١٨٢ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، أَنْبَأَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ قَوْلَهُ: فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لِذُنُوبِهِمْ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لِنَبِيِّهِ: وَمِنْ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلا الله.
