His saying, the Exalted: "while they know"
[The First Aspect]
4190 - My father narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Da'if narrated to us, 'Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, al-Husayn ibn Waqid narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd Allah ibn 'Ubayd ibn 'Umayr saying regarding His saying: "and do not persist in what they have done while they know," [meaning:] if they repent, Allah will accept their repentance.
4191 - My father narrated to us, Abu Hudhayfah narrated to us, Shibl narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding "and do not persist in what they have done while they know," [meaning:] they know that He forgives the one who seeks forgiveness and accepts the repentance of the one who repents.
4192 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: As for His saying: "while they know," [it means] they know that they have sinned and then they remained [in that state] and did not seek forgiveness.
[The Second Aspect]
4193 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "while they know" what I have forbidden them from, [such as] worshipping other than Me.
His saying, the Exalted: "Those"
4194 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, 'Ata' ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: "Those," meaning those who did what Allah mentioned in this verse.
His saying, the Exalted: "Their reward is forgiveness from their Lord"
4195 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salamah narrated to us, Thabit—meaning Ibn Yazid—narrated to us, 'Asim narrated to us, from Abu 'Uthman, that when this verse was recited: "And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong themselves, remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins," up to His saying: "Their reward is forgiveness from their Lord," he would say: How excellent is what He has rewarded you with for the sin.
4196 - My father narrated to us, Salih ibn 'Ubayd Allah al-Hashimi narrated to us, Abu al-Malih narrated to us, from Maymun ibn Mihran regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: "Those—their reward is forgiveness from their Lord," he said: Forgiveness has become incumbent for them.

٤١٩٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ بْنِ يَحْيَى الضَّعِيفُ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ يَقُولُ: فِي قَوْلِهِ:
وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا عَلَى مَا فَعَلُوا وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ إِنْ تَابُوا، تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ.
٤١٩١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ، ثنا شِبْلٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا عَلَى مَا فَعَلُوا وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ يَغْفِرُ لِمَنِ اسْتَغْفَرَ وَيَتُوبُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ:
٤١٩٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ: وَأَمَّا قَوْلُهُ: وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ فَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ أَذْنَبُوا ثُمَّ أَقَامُوا وَلَمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُوا.
وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:
٤١٩٣ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ: وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا حَرَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ عِبَادَةِ غَيْرِي.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أُولَئِكَ
٤١٩٤ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: أُولَئِكَ يَعْنِي الَّذِينَ فَعَلُوا مَا ذَكَرَ اللَّهُ فِي هَذِهِ الآيَةِ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: جَزَاؤُهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ
٤١٩٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، ثنا ثَابِتٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يَزِيدَ، ثنا عَاصِمٌ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ إِذَا تُتْلَى هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ: وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لِذُنُوبِهِمْ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: جَزَاؤُهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ قَالَ: نِعْمَ مَا جَازَاكَ عَلَى الذَّنْبِ.
٤١٩٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْهَاشِمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْمَلِيحِ، عَنْ مَيْمُونِ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: أُولَئِكَ جَزَاؤُهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ قَالَ: وَجَبَتْ لَهُمُ الْمَغْفِرَةُ.
