His saying, the Exalted: "And We will reward the grateful."

4274 - Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad narrated to us, Musa ibn Muhkam narrated to us, Abu Bakr al-Hanafi narrated to us, 'Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "And We will reward the grateful." He said: Allah gives the servant the world and the Hereafter by his intention.

His saying, the Exalted: "And how many a prophet [fought and with him fought many]"

4275 - And with the same chain, 'Abbad ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: I asked al-Hasan about His saying: "And how many a prophet fought and with him fought..." He said: There were prophets of Allah before Muhammad who had scholars fight along with them.

4276 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Junayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "And how many a prophet fought and with him fought many religious scholars" he said: "And how many a prophet" was afflicted by being killed while there were groups with him.

4277 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, from Sufyan, from 'Asim, from Zirr, from 'Abd Allah: "And how many a prophet fought and with him fought many religious scholars" he said: Thousands.

4278 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "fought and with him fought many religious scholars" he says: Multitudes.

4279 - Al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us by reading, Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb ibn Shabur informed me, 'Uthman ibn 'Ata' informed me, from his father: "As for 'many religious scholars' (ribbiyyun kathir), the 'rubwah' (a single unit of this root) is ten thousand in number, and the 'ribbiyyun' are the great multitudes." And it was narrated from Mujahid, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, and one of the two opinions of al-Hasan, and 'Ikrimah, al-Suddi, 'Ata' al-Khurasani, and Qatadah similarly to that.

4280 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Hasan regarding His saying: "fought and with him fought many religious scholars" he said: Many scholars.
