4290 - Muhammad narrated to us, Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "And [they] did not weaken" against their enemy.
His saying, the Exalted: "And [they] did not show submissiveness"
4291 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi narrated to us, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "And [they] did not show submissiveness" he says: They were not brought low when the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said to them: "It is not for them to overcome us; do not weaken and do not grieve, for you are the superior ones."
4292 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas narrated to us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And [they] did not show submissiveness" he says: They did not turn back from their insight nor from their religion, that they fought for what the Prophet of Allah fought for, until they joined Allah.
4293 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us by reading, Ibn Wahb reported, he said: Ibn Zayd ibn Aslam narrated to me: "And [they] did not show submissiveness" to their enemy.
4294 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "And [they] did not show submissiveness" for what befell them in the Jihad concerning Allah and their religion.
4295 - 'Ali ibn al-Mubarak informed us in what he wrote to me, Zayd ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, Ibn Thawr narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, he said: It reached me from Ibn 'Abbas that he said regarding His saying: "And [they] did not show submissiveness" he said: [That they] be humbled.
His saying, the Exalted: "And Allah loves the patient ones."
4296 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "And Allah loves the patient ones" for what befell them in the Jihad concerning Allah and their religion; that is patience.
His saying, the Exalted: "And their words were not but that they said, 'Our Lord, forgive us our sins'"
4297 - And by the same chain from Muhammad ibn Ishaq: "And their words were not but that they said, 'Our Lord, forgive us our sins'" meaning: Say as they said, and know that this is only due to sins from you, and ask for forgiveness as they asked for forgiveness, and proceed upon your religion as they proceeded upon their religion, and do not turn back on your heels as renegades.
٤٢٩٠ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، ثنا زُنَيْجٌ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ:
وَمَا ضَعُفُوا عَنْ عَدُوِّهِمْ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا
٤٢٩١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ الأَوْدِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ وَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا يَقُولُ: مَا ذُلُّوا حِينَ قَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَيْسَ لَهُمْ أَنْ يَعْلُونَا لَا تَهِنُوا وَلا تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنْتُمُ الأَعْلَوْنَ.
٤٢٩٢ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ، ثنا يَزِيدُ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَوْلَهُ:
وَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا يَقُولُ: مَا ارْتَدُّوا عَنْ بَصِيرَتِهِمْ وَلا عَنْ دِينِهِمْ أَنْ قَاتِلُوا عَلَى مَا قَاتَلَ عَلَيْهِ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ حَتَّى لَحِقُوا بِاللَّهِ.
٤٢٩٣ - أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى قِرَاءَةً، أَنْبَأَ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ زَيْدِ ابْنِ أَسْلَمَ وَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِعَدُوِّهِمْ.
٤٢٩٤ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ ابن إِسْحَاقَ: وَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِمَا أَصَابَهُمْ فِي الْجِهَادِ عَنِ اللَّهِ وَعَنْ دِينِهِمْ.
٤٢٩٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ثنا ابْنُ ثَوْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جَرِيحٍ قَالَ: بَلَغَنِي عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا قَالَ:
تَخْشَعُوا.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الصَّابِرِينَ
٤٢٩٦ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا سَلَمَةُ قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ: وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الصَّابِرِينَ لِمَا أَصَابَهُمْ فِي الْجِهَادِ عَنِ اللَّهِ، وَعَنْ دِينِهِمْ وَذَلِكَ الصَّبْرُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلُهُمْ إِلا أَنْ قَالُوا رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذنوبنا
٤٢٩٧ - وَبِهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ: وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلُهُمْ إِلا أَنْ قَالُوا رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا أَيْ فَقُولُوا مِثْلَ مَا قَالُوا، وَاعْلَمُوا إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ بِذُنُوبٍ مِنْكُمْ، وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا كَمَا
