4326 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "And you disobeyed," meaning you abandoned the command of your Prophet and what he had pledged to you, referring to the archers.

His saying, the Exalted: "After He had shown you what you love."

4327 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle al-Husayn narrated to me, from his father, from his grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "After He had shown you what you love," they had seen the conquest and the spoils.

4328 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "After He had shown you what you love," Allah's aid to the believers against the polytheists, to the extent that the women of the polytheists rode upon everything, both stubborn and tractable, then the polytheists were given the upper hand over them because of their disobedience to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, incited them while upon his grey mule and said: "O Lord, suffice me against them with whatever You will."

4329 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim narrated to us, Ahmad ibn al-Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "After He had shown you what you love," of the conquest.

His saying, the Exalted: "Among you are those who desire this world."

4330 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi and Muhammad ibn Muslim narrated to us, Ahmad ibn al-Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat ibn Nasr narrated to us, from al-Suddi, from 'Abd Khayr, he said: 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said: "I did not think that anyone among the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, on that day desired this world until Allah, the Exalted, said what He said." In the narration of Ibn Muslim: "I did not consider that any of the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, desired this world until there was revealed regarding us what was revealed on the day of Uhud: 'Among you are those who desire this world, and among you are those who desire the Hereafter.'"

4331 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle al-Husayn narrated to me, from his father, from his grandfather, from Ibn 'Abbas, that when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, defeated the people, he and his companions who believed, those who had placed the spoils behind them saw it and said: "Go to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and secure the spoils before others beat you to them." That is His saying: "Among you are those who desire this world."
