[The Second Aspect]

[6512] Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from 'Asim, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, that he was asked about the sacrificial animals of the Arab Christians, and he said: 'Eat.' Allah says: 'And whoever is an ally to them among you—then indeed, he is [one] of them.' It has been narrated from Abu al-Zinad something similar to that.

[6513] Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Musa ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: 'Eat the sacrificial animals of the Christians of Banu Taghlib, for Allah says: "And whoever is an ally to them among you—then indeed, he is [one] of them." So, if they were not of them except through alliance, then they would [indeed] be of them.'

His saying, the Almighty: 'Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.'

[6514] Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas narrated to us, Zunayj narrated to us, Salamah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: 'The wrongdoing people,' meaning the hypocrites who show obedience with their tongues while their hearts persist in disobedience.

[6515] My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Khalaf al-'Asqalani narrated to us, Abu Ja'far al-Razi narrated to us, from al-Rabi', from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding His saying: 'The wrongdoing people,' he means: Whoever refuses to say: "There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah." Similar to this has been narrated from 'Ikrimah, Qatadah, and al-Rabi' ibn Anas.

His saying, the Almighty: 'So you see those in whose hearts is disease.'

[6516] My father narrated to us, Abu al-Asbagh al-Harrani narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, my father Ishaq ibn Yasar narrated to me, from 'Ubadah ibn al-Walid, from 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit, he said: Allah revealed regarding them: 'Those in whose hearts is disease,' meaning 'Abd Allah ibn Ubayy.

His saying, the Almighty: 'disease.'

[6517] Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: 'So you see those in whose hearts is disease,' he said: It is doubt.

His saying, the Almighty: 'hastening.'

[6518] Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: 'hastening [to be] among them,' he said: They are the hypocrites.
