[6566] Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr Zunayj informed us, Salama narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Ishaq said: "And Allah is most knowing of what they conceal," meaning: what they hide.

[6568] Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed me in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "And you see many of them hastening into sin and aggression," [he said]: "Sin" means disbelief.

[6570] Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Ubada narrated to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Lawla" (why/were it not that), he said: It means "Hala" (why).

[6571] Yunus ibn Habib mentioned, Abu Dawud narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muslim ibn Abi al-Waddah narrated to us, Thabit ibn Sa'd al-Hamdani narrated to us, he said: I met him in al-Rayy, and he narrated from Yahya ibn Ya'mur, he said: 'Ali ibn Abi Talib delivered a sermon, praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: "O people, those who perished before you only perished because of their persistence in sins, and the rabbis and the learned men did not forbid them. قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْتُمُونَ

٦٥٦٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أصبغ بن الغرج قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ يَقُولُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَتَرَى كَثِيرًا مِنْهُمْ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ قَالَ: الْيَهُودُ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ
٦٥٦٨ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلَهُ: وَتَرَى كَثِيرًا مِنْهُمْ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ الإِثْمُ:

٦٥٧١ - ذَكَرَ يُونُسُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْوَضَّاحِ، ثنا ثَابِتُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ قَالَ لَقِيتُهُ بِالرَّيِّ فَحَدَّثَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمُرَ قَالَ: خَطَبَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا هَلَكَ مَنْ هَلَكَ قَبْلَكُمْ بِرُكُوبِهِمُ الْمَعَاصِيَ وَلَمْ يَنْهَهُمُ الرَّبَّانِيُّونَ وَالأَحْبَارُ، فَلَمَّا تَمَادَوْا فِي الْمَعَاصِي وَلَمْ يَمْنَعْهُمُ الرَّبَّانِيُّونَ وَالأَحْبَارُ أَخَذَتْهُمُ الْعُقُوبَاتُ. فَمُرُوا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَانْهَوْا عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ
