[6788] Muhammad ibn Hammad informed us in what he wrote to me, ‘Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma‘mar narrated to us from Ibn Abi Najih from Mujahid, he said: "Your hands and your spears." He said: "And your spears" is what you have thrown or cut.
His saying: "So that Allah may make evident who fears Him unseen"
[6789] My father narrated to us, Safwan al-Mu'adhdhin narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma‘ruf narrated to us from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "Allah will surely test you with something of the game," he said: It was revealed during the ‘Umrah of al-Hudaybiyyah, where wild animals, birds, and game would swarm them in their camps in a way they had never seen before in the past. So Allah forbade them from killing it while they were in the state of ihram, so that Allah may make evident who fears Him unseen.
His saying: "And whoever commits aggression after that"
[6790] Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa narrated to us, Harun ibn Hatim narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad narrated to us from Asbat from al-Suddiyy from Abu Malik regarding his saying: "After that," meaning: after this.
His saying: "Then he will have a painful punishment"
[6791] My father narrated to us, Abu Hudhayfah narrated to us, Shibl narrated to us from Qays ibn Sa‘id that Ibn ‘Abbas used to say: "A painful punishment" is for his back and stomach to be extensively whipped and his clothes taken from him.
[6792] My father narrated to us, Ibn Abi ‘Umar al-‘Adani narrated to us, he said: Sufyan said: Mujahid said: "And whoever commits aggression after that then he will have a painful punishment," he said: It is a binding [punishment].
His saying: "O you who have believed, do not kill game while you are in the state of ihram"
[6793] It is mentioned from Sharik from Salim from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr from Ibn ‘Abbas: "Do not kill game while you are in the state of ihram," so he forbade the pilgrim (muhrim) from killing it in this verse.
[6794] ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Zakariyya ibn Yahya al-Wasiti (Zahmawayh) narrated to us, Sharik narrated to us from Salim from Sa‘id ibn Jubayr regarding His saying: "Do not kill game while you are in the state of ihram," he said: He prohibited its hunting... and its eating.
His saying: "And whoever of you kills it intentionally"
[The First Aspect]
[6795] ‘Amr al-Awdi narrated to us, Waki‘ narrated to us from Sufyan from Jabir from al-Hakam that ‘Umar wrote that a judgment should be made against him in cases of error and intentional acts.
