[The Fourth Aspect]
[6925] My father narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Wazir narrated to us, Ibn Shu'ayb narrated to us, 'Umar mawla Ghufrah narrated to me, saying: This verse was only revealed because a man would accept Islam while his father remained a disbeliever, and a man would accept Islam while his brother remained a disbeliever. When the sweetness of faith entered their hearts, they invited their fathers and brothers (to Islam). They replied: "Sufficient for us is that upon which we found our fathers." So Allah, the Exalted, revealed: "O you who have believed, you are responsible for yourselves. Those who have gone astray will not harm you when you have been guided."
His saying, the Exalted: "When you have been guided"
[6926] My father narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, Yahya ibn Yaman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu al-'Abbas, from Abu al-Bakhtari, from Hudhayfah regarding His saying: "O you who have believed, you are responsible for yourselves. Those who have gone astray will not harm you when you have been guided." He says: Obey my command and keep my testament.
[6927] Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi reported to us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me, my father narrated to me from his father from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "Those who have gone astray will not harm you when you have been guided." He says: If the servant obeys Me in what I have commanded him regarding the lawful and the forbidden, then he who has gone astray after him will not harm him, provided he acts according to what I have commanded him.
[6928] I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "Those who have gone astray will not harm you when you have been guided." He said: The misguidance of those who have gone astray among the Majus (Zoroastrians) of Hajar, and others among the polytheists and the People of the Book from among the Christians and Jews, will not harm you.
His saying, the Exalted: "O you who have believed, the testimony between you when death approaches one of you at the time of making the will"
[6929] Abu Sa'id ibn Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us, 'Amr al-'Anqazi narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "O you who have believed, the testimony between you when death approaches one of you at the time of making the will." He said: This is concerning the will at the time of death; he makes a will and calls two men from the Muslims to witness his wealth and what is owed by him.
[6930] Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us.
