7091 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Then He decreed a term," meaning: the term of death.

7092 - It was narrated from al-Hasan, Mujahid, 'Ikrimah, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, al-Suddi, 'Atiyyah, Qatadah, al-Dahhak, and Zayd ibn Aslam the like of that.

And the second aspect:

7093 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed me in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from 'Atiyyah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "Then He decreed a term, and a term specified with Him," he said: "As for His saying: 'decreed a term,' it is sleep; He seizes the soul therein, then it returns to its possessor at the time of waking."

And the third aspect:

7094 - Al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid ibn Mazid informed me through reading, Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb ibn Shapur informed me, 'Uthman ibn 'Ata' informed me, from his father 'Ata' ibn Abi Muslim al-Khurasani: "As for His saying: 'decreed a term,' it is said: what He created in six days."

His saying: "And a term specified with Him"

[The First Aspect]

7095 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "And a term specified with Him," he said: "Until the Day of Resurrection." It was narrated from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, 'Atiyyah, al-Dahhak, 'Ikrimah, al-Suddi, 'Ata' al-Khurasani, and al-Rabi' ibn Anas the like of that.

7096 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And a term specified with Him," [it is] the term of the Hour.

And the second aspect:

7097 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd informed me in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from 'Atiyyah, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "And a term specified with Him," it is the term of a person's death.
