‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, regarding His saying: “He knows your secret,” he said: The secret is what the son of Adam conceals within himself.
7106 - Abu Zur’ah narrated to us, Yahya ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Bukayr narrated to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Lahi’ah narrated to me, ‘Ata’ ibn Dinar narrated to me, from Sa’id ibn Jubayr, regarding the saying of Allah: “He knows your secret,” he said: The secret is what you have spoken to yourself about.
His saying: “And no sign comes to them”
7107 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-‘Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray’ narrated to us, Sa’id narrated to us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: “And no sign from the signs of their Lord comes to them but they turn away from it,” he says: No part of the Book of Allah comes to them but they turn away from it.
His saying: “For they have already denied the truth when it came to them”
7108 - And through the same chain from Qatadah, regarding His saying: “The news of what they used to ridicule,” he says: The news of what they ridiculed from the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will surely come to them on the Day of Resurrection.
His saying, the Exalted: “Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them”
7109 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Musa narrated to us, Harun ibn Hatim narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Hammad narrated to us, from Asbat, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, regarding His saying: “From a generation (qarn),” he said: A generation is an era.
His saying: “We established them in the earth”
7110 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi’ narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma’mar informed us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: “We established them in the earth,” he says: We gave them.
His saying: “As We did not establish for you”
7111 - And through the same chain from Qatadah, regarding His saying: “As We did not establish for you,” he said: As We did not give you.
His saying: “And We sent the sky upon them in abundant rain,” the verse.

7112 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu’awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas, regarding His saying: “In abundant rain (midraran),” he says: Following one another successively.

عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَوْلَهُ: يَعْلَمُ سِرَّكُمْ، قَالَ: السِّرُّ: مَا أَسَرَّ ابْنُ آدَمَ فِي نَفْسِهِ.
٧١٠٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ، فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: يَعْلَمُ سِرَّكُمْ قَالَ: السِّرُّ: مَا حَدَّثْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَمَا تَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ آيَةٍ
٧١٠٧ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ثنا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَوْلَهُ: وَمَا تَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ آيَةٍ مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ يَقُولُ: مَا تَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ إِلا أَعْرَضُوا عَنْهُ.
قَوْلُهُ: فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ
٧١٠٨ - وَبِهِ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَوْلَهُ: أَنْبَاءُ مَا كَانُوا به يستهزؤن، يَقُولُ: سَيَأْتِيهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَنْبَأَءُ مَا اسْتَهْزَءُوا بِهِ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: أَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ
٧١٠٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي مُوسَى، ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، قَوْلَهُ: مِنْ قَرْنٍ، قَالَ:
الْقَرْنُ أَمَدٌ.
قَوْلُهُ: مَكَّنَّاهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ
٧١١٠ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، أنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ «١» ، أنا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ مَكَّنَّاهُمْ فِي الأَرْضِ، يَقُولُ: أَعْطَيْنَاهُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ: مَا لَمْ نُمَكِّنْ لَكُمْ
٧١١١ - وَبِهِ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: مَا لَمْ نُمَكِّنْ لَكُمْ، قَالَ: مَا لَمْ نُعْطِكُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَأَرْسَلْنَا السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِدْرَارًا الآية

٧١١٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَوْلَهُ: مِدْرَارًا، يَقُولُ: يَتْبَعُ بعضها بعضا.
