Translation · EN

Muhammad ibn Ka‘b, that he used to recite it, "Indeed, they do not deny you (la yukhthibunaka)" with the lightened pronunciation. He says: They do not invalidate what is in your hands.

7238 - My father narrated to us, ‘Ali ibn Hashim ibn Marzuq narrated to us, Ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from Salim ibn Abi Hafsah who said: ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib recited: "Indeed, they do not deny you (la yukadhdhibunaka)." He said: They do not bring a truth that is more true than your truth. And he recited: "But your people denied it, while it is the truth."

7239 - Muhammad ibn al-Wazir al-Wasiti narrated to us in Mecca, Bishr ibn al-Mubashshir al-Wasiti narrated to us, from Salam ibn Miskin, from Abu Yazid al-Madani, that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) met Abu Jahl and shook his hand. A man said to him: "Do I not see you shaking the hand of this Sabian?" He said: "By Allah, I know that he is indeed a Prophet, but when have we ever been followers of the Banu ‘Abd Manaf?" Then Abu Yazid recited: "Indeed, they do not deny you," the verse.

His saying, the Almighty and Majestic: "But the wrongdoers reject the signs of Allah."

7240 - Ahmad ibn ‘Uthman ibn Hakim informed us, in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "But the wrongdoers reject the signs of Allah," and the signs of Allah is Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).

7241 - al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi‘ narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma‘mar informed us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "But the wrongdoers reject the signs of Allah," he says: They know that you are the Messenger of Allah, yet they reject.

His saying: "They reject (yajhadun)."

7242 - My father narrated to us, ‘Ali ibn Nasr narrated to us, ‘Amr—meaning Ibn ‘Asim—narrated to us, Abu al-Ashhab narrated to us, who said: A man recited in the presence of al-Hasan: "Indeed, they do not deny you (la yukhthibunaka)" as a lightened form. Al-Hasan said: "Indeed, they do not deny you (la yukadhdhibunaka)." And he said: The people have certainly recognized him, but they rejected after having knowledge.

His saying: "And certainly were messengers denied before you," the verse.

مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَؤُهَا، فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكْذِبُونَكَ بِالتَّخْفِيفِ يَقُولُ: لَا يُبْطِلُونَ مَا فِي يَدَيْكَ.

٧٢٣٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ هَاشِمِ بْنِ مَرْزُوقٍ، ثنا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي حَفْصةٍ قَالَ: قَرَأَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ: فَإِنَّهُمْ لا يُكَذِّبُونَكَ قَالَ: لَا يَجِيئُونَ بِحَقٍّ هُوَ أَحَقُّ مِنْ حَقِّكَ. وَقَرَأَ: وَكَذَّبَ بِهِ قَوْمُكَ وَهُوَ الْحَقُّ.

٧٢٣٩ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَزِيرِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ بِمَكَّةَ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُبَشِّرِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، عَنْ سَلامِ بْنِ مِسْكِينٍ، عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ الْمَدَنِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَقِيَ أَبَا جَهْلٍ فَصَافَحَهُ. فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: أَلا أَرَاكَ تُصَافِحُ هَذَا الصَّابِئَ. فَقَالَ: وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لأَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ لَنَبِيٌّ، وَلَكِنْ مَتَى كُنَّا لِبَنِي عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ تَبَعًا؟ فَتَلا أَبُو يَزِيدَ: فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكَذِّبُونَكَ الْآيَةَ.

قَوْلُهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَلَكِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ.

٧٢٤٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلَهُ: وَلَكِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ وَآيَاتُ اللَّهِ: هُوَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

٧٢٤١ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ أنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، «١» أنا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَلَكِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ يَقُولُ: يَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَيَجْحَدُونَ.

قَوْلُهُ: يَجْحَدُونَ.

٧٢٤٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا عَمْرٌو يَعْنِي: ابْنَ عَاصِمٍ، ثنا أَبُو الأَشْهَبِ قَالَ: قَرَأَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدَ الْحَسَنِ: فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكَذِّبُونَكَ خَفِيفَةً. قَالَ الْحَسَنُ:

فَإِنَّهُمْ لَا يُكْذِبُونَكَ. وَقَالَ: إِنَّ الْقَوْمَ قَدْ عَرَفُوهُ، وَلَكِنَّهُمْ جَحَدُوا بَعْدَ الْمَعْرِفَةِ.

قَوْلُهُ: وَلَقَدْ كُذِّبَتْ رُسُلٌ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ الْآيَةَ.
