Translation · EN

Muhammad ibn Ka‘b, that he used to recite it, "Indeed, they do not deny you (la yukhthibunaka)" with the lightened pronunciation. He says: They do not invalidate what is in your hands.

7238 - My father narrated to us, ‘Ali ibn Hashim ibn Marzuq narrated to us, Ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from Salim ibn Abi Hafsah who said: ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib recited: "Indeed, they do not deny you (la yukadhdhibunaka)." He said: They do not bring a truth that is more true than your truth. And he recited: "But your people denied it, while it is the truth."

7239 - Muhammad ibn al-Wazir al-Wasiti narrated to us in Mecca, Bishr ibn al-Mubashshir al-Wasiti narrated to us, from Salam ibn Miskin, from Abu Yazid al-Madani, that the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) met Abu Jahl and shook his hand. A man said to him: "Do I not see you shaking the hand of this Sabian?" He said: "By Allah, I know that he is indeed a Prophet, but when have we ever been followers of the Banu ‘Abd Manaf?" Then Abu Yazid recited: "Indeed, they do not deny you," the verse.

His saying, the Almighty and Majestic: "But the wrongdoers reject the signs of Allah."

7240 - Ahmad ibn ‘Uthman ibn Hakim informed us, in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "But the wrongdoers reject the signs of Allah," and the signs of Allah is Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace).

7241 - al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi‘ narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma‘mar informed us, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "But the wrongdoers reject the signs of Allah," he says: They know that you are the Messenger of Allah, yet they reject.

His saying: "They reject (yajhadun)."

7242 - My father narrated to us, ‘Ali ibn Nasr narrated to us, ‘Amr—meaning Ibn ‘Asim—narrated to us, Abu al-Ashhab narrated to us, who said: A man recited in the presence of al-Hasan: "Indeed, they do not deny you (la yukhthibunaka)" as a lightened form. Al-Hasan said: "Indeed, they do not deny you (la yukadhdhibunaka)." And he said: The people have certainly recognized him, but they rejected after having knowledge.

His saying: "And certainly were messengers denied before you," the verse.
