Sa‘id, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "And certainly were messengers denied before you, yet they remained patient over what they were denied and were harmed." He is comforting His Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) as you hear, and informing him that messengers were indeed denied before him, so they remained patient over what they were denied and were harmed.
His saying: "Until Our victory came to them," the verse.
7244 - And by the same chain, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "Until Our victory came to them. And there is no changer of the words of Allah," he said: Until the command of Allah came, and He is the best of the judges.
His saying, Allah the Almighty and Majestic: "And if it is difficult for you, their aversion..."
7245 - My father narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Musa narrated to us, Hisham ibn Yusuf informed us, from Ibn Jurayj, from ‘Ata’, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "A tunnel (nafaqan) in the earth," he said: A passage (saraba) in the earth.
7246 - al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi‘ narrated to us, ‘Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma‘mar informed us, from Qatadah: "If you are able to seek a tunnel (nafaqan) in the earth," he said: A passage (saraba). It was also narrated from al-Suddi the same.
His saying, the Almighty: "Or a stairway (sullaman) into the sky."
7247 - And by the same chain, from Qatadah, His saying: "Or a stairway (sullaman) into the sky," meaning: The rungs.
7248 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu‘awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from ‘Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "Or a stairway (sullaman) into the sky," meaning: You make for them a stairway into the sky and ascend upon it. And it was narrated from al-Suddi something similar.
His saying: "And you bring them a sign."
7249 - And by the same chain, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "And you bring them a sign," he said: So you search within it, and if you bring them a sign better than what We have brought them, then do so.
His saying, the Almighty: "And if Allah had willed, He would have gathered them on guidance," the verse.
7250 - And by the same chain, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding His saying: "And if Allah had willed, He would have gathered them on guidance," the verse, he said: Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was eager that all people would believe.
