His saying: "And the evening, seeking His countenance."

7337 - My father narrated to us, Abu Hudhayfah narrated to us, Shibl narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding: "And do not drive away those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening," he said: The obligatory prayer, the Afternoon (al-'Asr).

7338 - Abu 'Ubayd Allah ibn akhi ibn Wahb narrated to us, my uncle narrated to us, Yahya ibn Ayyub narrated to me, from al-Muthanna ibn al-Sabbah, from 'Amr ibn Shu'ayb regarding the saying of Allah: "(those who) call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening," he said: The evening is the 'Isha' prayer.

His saying, the Exalted: "Not upon you is anything of their account."

7339 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "And do not drive away those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. Not upon you is anything of their account, nor is anything of your account upon them, that you should drive them away," [referring to] Bilal and Ibn Umm Maktum; they used to sit with Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Quraysh said: We despise them; were it not for them and their likes, I would have sat with you. So he was forbidden from driving them away. [Up to] His saying: "Is not Allah most knowing of the grateful?"

His saying: "Lest you be among the wrongdoers."

7340 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam saying regarding His saying: "Lest you drive them away, so you would be among the wrongdoers": There is nothing between you and being among the wrongdoers except that you should drive them away.

His saying: "And thus We have tested some of them through others."

7341 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And thus We have tested some of them through others," meaning: He made some of them rich and some of them poor.

His saying: "That they might say, 'Is it these whom Allah has favored among us?'"
