Translation · EN

7401 - My father narrated to me, 'Ubayd Allah ibn Hamzah ibn Isma'il narrated to us, who said: I heard my father saying: Abu Sinan narrated to us regarding His saying: "Say, 'He is the All-Able to send upon you a punishment from above you,'" he said: Your nobles and your commanders.

It was narrated from 'Umayr ibn Hani' that he said: The leaders of evil.

[The Second Aspect]

7402 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, from Sufyan, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik, who said regarding "a punishment from above you": He said: Stoning.

7403 - My father narrated to us, Hawdhah narrated to us, 'Awf narrated to us, from al-Hasan regarding "Say, 'He is the All-Able to send upon you a punishment from above you,'" he said: From the sky. It was also narrated from al-Suddi the same.

[The Third Aspect]

7404 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid (1): "Say, 'He is the All-Able to send upon you a punishment from above you,'" [it means:] for the Ummah of Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), but He pardoned them.

[The Fourth Aspect]

7405 - It was mentioned from Muslim ibn Ibrahim, Harun al-A'war narrated to us, from Hafs ibn Sulayman, from al-Hasan regarding "Say, 'He is the All-Able to send upon you a punishment from above you or from beneath your feet," he said: This is for the polytheists.

His saying, the Almighty and Majestic: "Or from beneath your feet."

[The First Aspect]

7406 - Muhammad ibn 'Abd Allah ibn Yazid al-Muqri' narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Amr, from Jabir, who said: It was revealed to the Prophet of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): "or from beneath your feet," and he said: "I seek refuge in Your Countenance."

7407 - It was read to Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la, Ibn Wahb informed us, who said: I heard Khallad ibn Sulayman saying: I heard 'Amir ibn 'Abd al-Rahman saying: Ibn 'Abbas used to say regarding this verse: "a punishment from above you or from beneath your feet."
