7437 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, from Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people" – He says: Do not remain after you remember the prohibition, with the wrongdoing people.
7438 - And by the same chain from Muqatil, regarding His saying: "with the wrongdoing people" – He means: the polytheists (al-mushrikin).
His saying: "And not upon those who fear Allah."
7439 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashaj narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah ibn Musa narrated to us, from Isra'il, from al-Suddi, from Abu Malik and Sa'id ibn Jubayr, regarding His saying: "And not upon those who fear Allah is anything of their account" – He said: There is no blame upon you if they engage in the verses of Allah, if you do that.
7440 - I read to Muhammad, Muhammad narrated to us, Muhammad narrated to us, from Bukayr, from Muqatil, then he mentioned the believers in their statement when they said: We fear that we will be expelled if we remain silent regarding them. Then Allah the Almighty said: "And not upon those who fear Allah is anything of their account, nor is there anything of their sins or their discourse, but only as a reminder that they might fear Allah." That is because the people used to enjoy sitting with the companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him; so whenever they would engage in offensive discourse, the Muslims would stand up from them. They (the others) would refrain from such discourse out of dislike that the companions of Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, would stand up and leave them.
His saying, the Almighty: "of their account is anything."
7441 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, regarding His saying: "of their account is anything" – He says: of the account of the disbelievers is anything.
His saying: "but only as a reminder."
7442 - I read to Muhammad ibn al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan, regarding His saying: "but only as a reminder" – They say: If we were to engage (in such discourse), they would leave us, but when they mention that, they do not engage in it; that is His saying: "but only as a reminder that they might fear Allah."
His saying, the Almighty: "that they might fear Allah."
7443 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from
٧٤٣٧ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُزَاحِمٍ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ قَوْلَهُ: فَلا تَقْعُدْ بَعْدَ الذِّكْرَى مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظالمين يقول: لا تقعد بعد ما تَذْكُرُ النَّهْيَ مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ.
٧٤٣٨ - وَبِهِ عَنْ مُقَاتِلٍ قَوْلَهُ: مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ يَعْنِي: الْمُشْرِكِينَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَمَا عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ
٧٤٣٩ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ، وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ،
قَوْلَهُ: وَمَا عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ مِنْ حِسَابِهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ قَالَ: مَا عَلَيْكَ أَنْ يَخُوضُوا فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ إِنْ فَعَلْتَ ذَلِكَ.
٧٤٤٠ - قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدٌ، ثنا مُحَمَّدٌ، عَنْ بُكَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُقَاتِلٍ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي قَوْلِهِمْ حِينَ قَالُوا: إِنَّا نخاف أن نخرج فِي سُكُوتِنَا عَنْهُمْ، فَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى: وَمَا عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ مِنْ حِسَابِهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ، وَلا مِنْ ذُنُوبِهِمْ وَلا مِنْ خَوضِهِمْ وَلَكِنْ ذِكْرَى لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ وَذَلِكَ أَنَّ الْقَوْمَ كَانَ يُعْجِبُهُمْ مُجَالَسَةُ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَكَانُوا إِذَا خَاضُوا قَامَ عَنْهُمُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ، فَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ الْخَوْضَ كَرَاهِيَةَ أَنْ يَقُومَ عَنْهُمْ أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: مِنْ حِسَابِهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ.
٧٤٤١ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُفَضَّلٍ، ثنا أَسْبَاطٌ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ قَوْلَهُ: مِنْ حِسَابِهِمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ يَقُولُ: مِنْ حِسَابِ الْكُفَّارِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَلَكِنْ ذِكْرَى.

قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ.
