Translation · EN

His saying: "as play and amusement."

7449 - 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn Mansur al-Basri narrated to us, my father narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from 'Umar ibn Nabhan, from Qatada regarding "they have taken their religion as play and amusement" – He said: Eating and drinking.

7450 - My father narrated to us, Qabisa narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Karim, from Mujahid, he said: Every play is amusement.

His saying: "And the worldly life has deluded them."

7451 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Abi Ja'far narrated to us, from his father, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, he said: What they were fabricating has deluded them.

His saying: "And remind with it, lest a soul be given up to destruction for what it has earned."

[The first interpretation]

7452 - Abu Zur'a narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umara informed us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "lest a soul be given up to destruction for what it has earned" – He says: A soul is handed over for what it has earned; he says: It is handed over and cast away for what it has earned.

It was narrated from Mujahid, 'Ikrimah, al-Hasan, and al-Suddi something similar to this.

The second interpretation:

7453 - My father narrated to me, Abu Salih the scribe of al-Layth narrated to us, Mu'awiya ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talha, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "And remind with it, lest a soul be given up to destruction" – he means that "tubsal" means: to be disgraced.

The third interpretation:

7454 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatada regarding His saying: "lest a soul be given up to destruction" – He says: It is seized and imprisoned. Something similar to this was narrated from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam.

His saying: "And if it should offer every ransom, it will not be taken from it."

٧٤٤٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ البصري، ثنا أبي، ثنا جعفر ابن سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ نَبْهَانَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ: اتَّخَذُوا دِينَهُمْ لَعِبًا وَلَهْوًا قَالَ: أَكْلا وَشُرْبًا.

٧٤٥٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا قَبِيصَةُ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ:

كُلُّ لَعِبٍ لَهْوٌ.

قَوْلُهُ: وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا.

٧٤٥١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: غَرَّهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ.

قَوْلُهُ: وَذَكِّرْ بِهِ أَنْ تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌ بما كسبت.

٧٤٥٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلَهُ: أَنْ تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ، يَقُولُ:

تُسَلَّمُ نَفْسٌ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ، يَقُولُ: تُسَلَّمُ تُدْفَعُ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ.

وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، وَعِكْرِمَةَ، وَالْحَسَنِ، وَالسُّدِّيِّ، مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ.

الْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:

٧٤٥٣ - حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ كَاتِبُ اللَّيْثِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَوْلَهُ: وَذَكِّرْ بِهِ أَنْ تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌ يَعْنِي أَنْ تُبْسَلَ: أَنْ تُفْضَحَ.

وَالْوَجْهُ الثَّالِثُ:

٧٤٥٤ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ، أنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أنا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: أَنْ تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌ يَقُولُ: تُؤْخَذَ تُحْبَسَ. وَرُوِيَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ نَحْوُ هَذَا

قَوْلُهُ: وَإِنْ تَعْدِلْ كُلَّ عَدْلٍ لَا يُؤْخَذْ مِنْهَا.
