in it, until he looked at his place in Paradise. The earths were opened for him until he looked at the lowest part of the earth. That is the meaning of His saying: "We gave him his reward in the world."
7503 - Hajjaj ibn Hamza narrated to us, Shababa narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, regarding His saying: "And thus did We show Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth." He said: [They are] signs.
The fourth aspect:
7504 - Abu Muhammad said: I found in the book of 'Attab ibn A'yan, which his son's son brought out to me, that Sufyan al-Thawri narrated to me, from Isma'il, from Abu Salih: "And thus did We show Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth." He said: The Truth.
His saying, the Exalted: "And the earth"
7505 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatada regarding His saying: "And thus did We show Abraham the realm of the heavens and the earth." He said: The realm of the heavens was the sun, the moon, and the stars, and the realm of the earth was the mountains, the trees, and the seas.
7506 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-Mutawakkil narrated to us, 'Abd Allah ibn Ibrahim ibn Kaysan al-San'ani narrated to us, my father narrated to me, from Wahb ibn Munabbih, who said: When Abraham was shown the realm of the heavens and the earth, he asked his Lord to show him the two gardens of Saba' and the Ghuta of Damascus.
His saying: "That he might be among the certain [in faith]"
7507 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd al-'Awfi informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me, from his father, from 'Atiyya, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "That he might be among the certain [in faith]." He said: The matter was made clear to him, its secret and its manifest. Nothing of the deeds of the creation was hidden from him. When he began to invoke curses upon the people of sin, Allah said: "You are not capable of this." So Allah returned him to as he was before that.

فِيهَا، وَحَتَّى نَظَرَ إِلَى مَكَانِهِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ. وَفُتِحَتْ لَهُ الأَرَضُونَ حَتَّى نَظَرَ إِلَى أَسْفَلِ الأَرْضِ، فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ: آتَيْنَاهُ أَجْرَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا.
٧٥٠٣ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ «١»
، قوله: وكذلك نري إبراهيم ملكوت السماوات وَالأَرْضِ. قَالَ:
آيَاتٍ.

٧٥٠٤ - قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ: وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ عَتَّابِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ، أَخْرَجَهُ إِلَيَّ ابْنُ ابْنِهِ، حَدَّثَنِي سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ: وَكَذَلِكَ نُرِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ ملكوت السماوات وَالأَرْضِ، قَالَ: الْحَقُّ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَالأَرْضِ
٧٥٠٥ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ أنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ «٢» ، أنا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَكَذَلِكَ نري إبراهيم ملكوت السماوات وَالأَرْضِ، فَكَانَ مَلَكُوتُ السَّمَوَاتِ: الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُومَ، وَمَلَكُوتُ الأَرْضِ: الْجِبَالَ وَالشَّجَرَ وَالْبِحَارَ.
٧٥٠٦ - حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُتَوَكِّلِ، ثنا عَبْدُ الله بن إبراهيم ابن كَيْسَانَ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ منبه قال: لما أرى إبراهيم ملكوت السماوات وَالأَرْضِ سَأَلَ رَبَّهُ أي يُرِيَهُ جَنَّتَيْ سَبَأٍ وَغُوطَةِ دِمَشْقَ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَلِيَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُوقِنِينَ
٧٥٠٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَوْفِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنِي عَمِّي، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: وَلِيَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُوقِنِينَ، فَإِنَّهُ جُلِّيَ لَهُ الأَمْرُ سِرُّهُ وَعَلَانِيَتُهُ، فَلَمْ يخفف عَلَيْهِ شَيْءٌ مِنْ أَعْمَالِ الْخَلائِقِ، فَلَمَّا جَعَلَ يَلْعَنُ أَصْحَابَ الذُّنُوبِ قَالَ اللَّهُ: إِنَّكَ لَا تَسْتَطِيعُ هَذَا، فَرَدَّهُ اللَّهُ كَمَا كَانَ قَبْلَ ذلك.
