7515 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatada, regarding His saying: "So when it set, he said, 'I like not those that disappear.'" It was mentioned to us that the Prophet of Allah, Ibrahim (peace be upon him), after Allah showed him the dominion of the heavens, saw a star and said: "This is my Lord." But when it set, he said: "I like not those that disappear," for he knew that his Lord is eternal and does not perish.

7516 - My father narrated to us, Salama ibn Bashir narrated to us, 'Abd al-Wahhab ibn 'Ata' narrated to us, from Sa'id, from Qatada, regarding His saying: "I like not those that disappear," he said: The vanishing ones.

His saying: "So when he saw the moon rising, he said, 'This is my Lord.'"

7517 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiya ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talha, from Ibn 'Abbas, regarding His saying: "So when he saw the moon rising, he said, 'This is my Lord.'" He said: He worshipped it until it set.

7518 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad ibn Talha narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: Ibn 'Abbas said: He went out at the end of the month, and that is why he did not see the moon before the star. When it was the end of the night, he saw the moon, so when he saw the moon rising—meaning it had appeared—he said: "This is my Lord."

His saying: "So when it set, he said, 'Unless my Lord guides me'"

7519 - And by the same chain, from al-Suddi: "So when it set," meaning it disappeared, "he said, 'Unless my Lord guides me, I would surely be of the people who are astray.'"

His saying: "So when he saw the sun rising, he said, 'This is my Lord.'"

7520 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, narrated to us, Mu'awiya ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talha, from Ibn 'Abbas: Regarding His saying: "So when he saw the sun rising, he said, 'This is my Lord; this is greater.'" So he worshipped it until it set.

7521 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi:

His saying: "So when morning came, he saw the sun rising, he said, 'This is my Lord; this is greater.'"

His saying: "This is greater"

7522 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas ibn al-Walid informed us, Yazid ibn Zuray' narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatada.
