Salama, from Ibn Ishaq: "And how should I fear what you associate with Him?" He said: How should I fear an idol that you worship besides Allah, which neither benefits nor harms?
His saying: "And you do not fear that you have associated with Allah"
7536 - And with the same chain, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, regarding His saying: "And you do not fear that you have associated with Allah": He said: You do not fear [the One] who harms and benefits, yet you have set up partners alongside Him that neither harm nor benefit.
His saying: "For which He has not sent down to you any authority"
7537 - My father narrated to us, Malik ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Sufyan ibn 'Uyayna narrated to us, from 'Amr, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: Every [instance of the word] "authority" (sultan) in the Qur'an means "proof" (hujjah).
It was narrated from Abu Malik, Muhammad ibn Ka'b, 'Ikrimah, Sa'id ibn Jubayr, al-Dahhak, al-Suddi, and Nadr ibn 'Arabi, something similar.
His saying: "Which of the two parties is more deserving of security, if you should know?"
7538 - Hajjaj narrated to us, Shababa narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid, who said regarding the statement of Abraham, peace and blessings be upon him, when he asked them: "Which of the two parties is more deserving of security?" He said: It is the argument of Abraham.
7539 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam saying regarding His saying: "Which of the two parties is more deserving of security?": Is it the one who feared other than Allah and did not fear Him, or the one who feared Allah and did not fear other than Him? So Allah, Almighty and Majestic is He, said: "Those who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice, those will have security, and they are guided."
7540 - Muhammad ibn al-'Abbas, client of the Banu Hashim, narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Salama narrated to us, Salama narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq: "Which of the two parties is more deserving of security, if you should know?" Meaning: [more deserving] of security from the punishment of Allah in this world and the Hereafter—the one who worships the One in whose hand is harm and benefit, or the one who worships that which neither harms nor benefits?
سَلَمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ: وَكَيْفَ أَخَافُ مَا أَشْرَكْتُمْ، قَالَ: كَيْفَ أَخَافُ وَثَنًا تَعْبُدُونَهُ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنْفَعُ وَلا يَضُرُّ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَلا تَخَافُونَ أَنَّكُمْ أَشْرَكْتُمْ بِاللَّهِ
٧٥٣٦ - وَبِهِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، قَوْلَهُ: وَلا تَخَافُونَ أَنَّكُمْ أَشْرَكْتُمْ بِاللَّهِ قَالَ: لَا تَخَافُونَ أَنْتُمُ الَّذِي يَضُرُّ وَيَنْفَعُ، وَقَدْ جَعَلْتُمْ مَعَهُ شُرَكَاءَ لَا تَضُرُّ وَلا تَنْفَعُ.
قَوْلُهُ: مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِ عَلَيْكُمْ سُلْطَانًا
٧٥٣٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: كُلُّ سُلْطَانٍ فِي الْقُرْآنِ حُجَّةٌ.
وَرُوِيَ، عَنِ أَبِي مَالِكٍ وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ وَعِكْرِمَةَ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ وَالضَّحَّاكِ وَالسُّدِّيِّ وَنَضْرِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ، مِثْلَهُ.
قَوْلُهُ: فَأَيُّ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ أَحَقُّ بِالأَمْنِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ؟.
٧٥٣٨ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ قَوْلُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلاةُ وَالسَّلامُ حِينَ سَأَلَهُمْ: فَأَيُّ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ أَحَقُّ بِالأَمْنِ؟ قَالَ: حُجَّةُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ.
٧٥٣٩ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ يَقُولُ فِي قَوْلِهِ: فَأَيُّ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ أَحَقُّ بِالأَمْنِ؟: أَمَنْ خَافَ غَيْرَ اللَّهِ وَلَمْ يَخَفْهُ، أَمْ مَنْ خَافَ اللَّهَ وَلَمْ يَخَفْ غَيْرَهُ؟ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَلَمْ يَلْبِسُوا إِيمَانَهُمْ بِظُلْمٍ أُولَئِكَ لَهُمُ الأَمْنُ وَهُمْ مُهْتَدُونَ.
٧٥٤٠ - حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ثنا سَلَمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ: فَأَيُّ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ أَحَقُّ بِالْأَمْنِ إن كنتم تعلمون أَيْ بِالأَمْنِ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ الَّذِي يَعْبُدُ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الضُّرُّ وَالنَّفْعُ، أَمِ الَّذِي يَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَضُرُّ وَلا ينفع؟
