His saying, the Exalted: "And [also] Zachariah and John and Jesus and Elias—and all were of the righteous."
7555 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Abu Usamah narrated to us, from Musa ibn 'Ubaydah, who said: I heard Muhammad ibn Ka'b saying: The maternal uncle is a father, and the paternal uncle is a father. Allah attributed Jesus to his maternal uncles, he said: "And from his descendants," until he reached His saying: "And Zachariah and John and Jesus and Elias—and all were of the righteous."
His saying: "And Elias."
7556 - My father narrated to us, Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, Isra'il narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from 'Ubaydah ibn Rabi'ah, who said: 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said: Indeed, Elias is Idris.
His saying: "And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah."
7557 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to me, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas: "And We gave to him Isaac and Jacob; all [of them] We guided. And Noah, We guided before." Then he said regarding Abraham: "And from his descendants, David and Solomon," until His saying: "And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot; and each [of them] We favored over the worlds." Then he said regarding the prophets whom Allah named in this verse: "So from their guidance, take an example," may Allah bless them all.
His saying, the Exalted: "And [some] among their fathers and their descendants and their brothers—and We chose them."
7558 - Hajjaj ibn Hamzah narrated to us, Shababah narrated to us, Warqa' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Najih, from Mujahid: Regarding His saying: "And We chose them," he said: We purified them.
His saying: "And We guided them to a straight path."

7559 - Al-Hasan ibn 'Arafah narrated to us, Yahya ibn al-Yaman narrated to me, from Hamzah al-Zayyat, from Sa'd al-Ta'i, from the nephew of al-Harith al-A'war, from al-Harith, who said: I entered upon 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, and he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying: "The straight path is the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَزَكَرِيَّا وَيَحْيَى وَعِيسَى وَإِلْيَاسَ كُلٌّ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ.
٧٥٥٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ، ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنُ عُبَيْدَةَ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ كَعْبٍ يَقُولُ: الْخَالُ وَالِدٌ، وَالْعَمُّ وَالِدٌ، نَسَبَ اللَّهُ عِيسَى إِلَى أَخْوَالِهِ، قَالَ: وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ، حَتَّى بَلَغَ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: وَزَكَرِيَّا وَيَحْيَى وَعِيسَى وإلياس كل من الصالحين.
قَوْلُهُ: وَإِلْيَاسَ
٧٥٥٦ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: إِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ هُوَ إِدْرِيسُ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَالْيَسَعَ وَيُونُسَ
٧٥٥٧ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ثنا أَبُو صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ كُلا هَدَيْنَا وَنُوحًا هَدَيْنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ: وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ دَاوُدَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَالْيَسَعَ وَيُونُسَ وَلُوطًا وَكُلًّا فضلنا على الْعَالَمِينَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي الأَنْبِيَاءِ الَّذِينَ سَمَّاهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي هَذِهِ الآيَةِ: فَبِهُدَاهُمُ اقْتَدِهْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ.
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: وَمِنْ آبَائِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ وَإِخْوَانِهِمْ وَاجْتَبَيْنَاهُمْ
٧٥٥٨ - حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، ثنا شَبَابَةُ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ: قَوْلَهُ: اجْتَبَيْنَاهُمْ، قَالَ: أَخْلَصْنَاهُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ: وَهَدَيْنَاهُمْ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ.

٧٥٥٩ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ الْيَمَانِ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ الزَّيَّاتِ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ الطَّائِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَخِي الْحَارِثِ الأَعْوَرِ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: الصِّرَاطُ الْمُسْتَقِيمُ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.
