The Second Aspect:

7560 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih, the scribe of al-Layth, narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me that 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Jubayr narrated to him, from his father, from al-Nawwas ibn Sam'an al-Ansari, from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he said: "Allah has set forth an example of a straight path; so the straight path is Islam."

The Third Aspect:

7561 - Sa'dan ibn Nasr narrated to us, Abu al-Nadr Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, Hamzah ibn al-Mughirah narrated to us, from 'Asim al-Ahwal, from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding: "The straight path," he said: It is the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and his two companions after him. 'Asim said: We mentioned that to al-Hasan, and he said: Abu al-'Aliyah spoke the truth and gave sincere advice.

The Fourth Aspect:

7562 - Yahya ibn 'Abdak narrated to us, Khalid ibn 'Abd al-Rahman al-Makhzumi narrated to us, 'Umar ibn Dharr narrated to us, from Mujahid regarding His saying: "The straight path," he said: The truth.

His saying: "That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whomever He wills of His servants. But if they had associated others with Allah, then invalid would have been their deeds."

7563 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Zayd ibn Aslam saying regarding His saying: "Those are the ones whom Allah has guided, so from their guidance take an example," and he recited: "That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whomever He wills of His servants. But if they had associated others with Allah, then invalid would have been their deeds"—meaning these people whom He said: "We have guided them and favored them."

His saying: "Those are the ones to whom We gave the Scripture."

[The First Aspect]

7564 - It was mentioned from Muslim ibn Ibrahim, Juwayriyah ibn Bashir narrated to us, he said: I heard a man asking al-Hasan about His saying: "Those are the ones to whom We gave the Scripture and authority and prophethood," who are they, O Abu Sa'id? He said: They are those who are in the beginning of this verse.

7565 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, he said: Abu Kurayb Muhammad ibn al-'Ala' said, Yunus ibn Bukayr narrated to us, from Matar ibn Maymun, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: The Scripture: Writing with the pen.
