[...from] 'And of his descendants, Dawud (David) and Sulayman (Solomon),' until His saying: 'Those are the ones whom Allah has guided, so take their guidance.' He said: Your Prophet (peace be upon him) was commanded to take guidance from Dawud (peace be upon him).
7580 - Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi informed us in what he wrote to me, Asbagh ibn al-Faraj narrated to us, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid ibn Aslam saying regarding the saying of Allah: 'Those are the ones...' the verse: O Muhammad, take their guidance, and do not follow these.
7581 - Musa ibn Harun al-Tusi informed us in what he wrote to me, al-Husayn ibn Muhammad al-Marwazi narrated to us, Shayban narrated to us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: 'Those are the ones whom Allah has guided, so take their guidance,' he said: Allah narrated to him [the Prophet] eighteen prophets, then He commanded your Prophet to follow them. He said: And you, take guidance from the righteous before you.
His saying: 'Say: I do not ask of you any reward for it.'
7582 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah narrated to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: 'Say: I do not ask of you any reward for it,' he said: Say to them, O Muhammad: I do not ask of you any reward for what I invite you to.
7583 - It was read to Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Abi Ayyub informed me, from 'Ata' ibn Dinar regarding the saying of Allah the Exalted: 'I do not ask of you any reward for it,' he says: I do not ask of you any reward for what I have brought to you.

His saying: 'Any reward.'
7585 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah narrated to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: 'Say: I do not ask of you any reward for it,' he says: [Meaning] any worldly interest.

وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ دَاوُدَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ هَدَى اللَّهُ فَبِهُدَاهُمُ اقْتَدِهْ قَالَ: أُمِرَ نَبِيُّكُمْ أَنْ يَقْتَدِيَ بِدَاوُدَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «١» .
٧٥٨٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ قَالَ:
سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ يَقُولُ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ.. الآيَةَ:
يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَبِهُدَاهُمُ اقْتَدِهْ، وَلا تَقْتَدِ بِهَؤُلاءِ.
٧٥٨١ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ الطُّوسِيُّ فِيمَا كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ، ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثنا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ: قَوْلَهُ: أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ هَدَى اللَّهُ فَبِهُدَاهُمُ اقْتَدِهْ قَالَ:
قَصَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ ثَمَانِيَةَ عَشَرَ نَبِيًّا، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ نَبِيَّكُمْ أَنْ يَقْتَدِيَ بِهِمْ. قَالَ: وَأَنْتُمْ، فَاقْتَدُوا بِالصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ.
قَوْلُهُ: قُلْ لَا أسئلكم عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا
٧٥٨٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: قَوْلَهُ: قُلْ لا أسئلكم عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا قَالَ: قُلْ لَهُمْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ: لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَى مَا أَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَيْهِ أَجْرًا.
٧٥٨٣ - قُرِئَ عَلَى يُونُسَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: لَا أسئلكم عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا يَقُولُ: لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَى مَا جِئْتُكُمْ بِهِ أَجْرًا.
٧٥٨٤ - أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ، ثنا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ فَرَجٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرحمن ابن زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ يَقُولُ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ: قل لا أسئلكم عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا يَقُولُ: لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَى الْقُرْآنِ أَجْرًا.
قَوْلُهُ: أَجْرًا
٧٥٨٥ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ، ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: قل لا أسئلكم عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا يقول:
عَرَضًا مِنْ عَرَضِ الدُّنْيَا.
