7593 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to me, Mu'awiyah narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "When they said: Allah has not sent down anything upon any human," meaning from the Children of Israel.
7594 - Ahmad ibn 'Uthman ibn Hakim al-Awdi informed us in what he wrote to me, Ahmad ibn Mufaddal narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi regarding His saying: "When they said: Allah has not sent down anything upon any human," he said: Finhas the Jew said: Allah has not sent down anything upon Muhammad.

His saying, the Almighty and Majestic: "Say: Who sent down the Book that Musa brought?"
7596 - And by the same chain from Ibn 'Abbas, he said: The Jews said: O Muhammad, has Allah sent down a Book upon you? He said: Yes. They said: By Allah, He has not sent down any book from heaven. So Allah sent down: "Say, O Muhammad: Who sent down the Book that Musa brought... Say, Allah sent it down."
7597 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, Abu al-Rabi' informed us, Ya'qub narrated to us, Ja'far informed us from Sa'id ibn Jubayr, he said: A man from the Jews called Malik ibn al-Sayf came and disputed with the Prophet, peace be upon him. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to him: I adjure you by the One who sent down the Torah upon Musa, do you find in the Torah that Allah hates the fat rabbi? He said: And he was a fat rabbi, so he became angry and said: Allah has not sent down anything upon any human. His companions who were with him said to him: Woe to you! Not even upon Musa? He said: Allah has not sent down anything upon any human. So Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, sent down: "And they did not estimate Allah with the estimation due to Him when they said: Allah has not sent down anything upon any human. Say: Who sent down the Book that Musa brought as a light and guidance to the people?"

7598 - I read to Muhammad al-Fadl, Muhammad ibn 'Ali narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Muzahim narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf narrated to us, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan regarding His saying: "A light," he said: A light from blindness.
