7607 - Al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn 'Abd Allah al-Harawi narrated to us, Hajjaj narrated to us, he said: Ibn Jurayj said: Ibn Kathir informed me, from Mujahid regarding: "Papers which you disclose and conceal much," Mujahid said: The Jews are those who disclose it and conceal much.

His saying, the Almighty: "Say: Allah"

7608 - My father narrated to us, Abu Salih narrated to us, Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to me, from 'Ali ibn Abi Talhah, from Ibn 'Abbas: Regarding his saying: "And you were taught what you did not know, you nor your forefathers, say: Allah," he said: Allah revealed it.

7609 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, al-'Abbas narrated to us, Yazid narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Qatadah: Regarding his saying: "Then leave them in their indulgence, playing," he said: Allah rebuked them for that action of theirs.

His saying: "And this is a Book We have revealed, blessed"

7610 - And with his chain of narration regarding His saying: "And this is a Book We have revealed, blessed," he said: It is the Qur'an which Allah revealed to Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

His saying: "Confirming"

7611 - Muhammad ibn Sa'd ibn 'Atiyah informed us in what he wrote to me, my father narrated to me, my uncle narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from his father, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abbas: Regarding his saying: "Confirming," he said: A witness.

His saying: "Confirming that which is between his hands"

7612 - 'Ali ibn al-Husayn narrated to us, Muhammad ibn al-'Ala' narrated to us, 'Uthman ibn Sa'id narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah narrated to us, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn 'Abbas: "Confirming," he says: Confirming that which is between his hands. He says: For what preceded it of the Books which Allah revealed, the signs, and the messengers whom Allah sent with signs, such as Musa, 'Isa, Nuh, Hud, Shu'ayb, Salih, and their like among the messengers. "Confirming," he says: And you are reciting to them, O Muhammad, and informing them of it morning and evening and between that, while you are among them unlettered (ummi), you have not read a book, nor have you been sent a messenger, and you are informing them of what is in their hands according to its true nature and veracity. Allah says: In that for them is a lesson and an explanation, and a proof against them, if they were to understand.
